Perfect short stay retreat to visit North Wales.

The ‘Hobbit house’ as my kids named it was spacious and comfortable with all accessories required for a short stay. We stayed here as a hub for visiting north wales and the zip worlds which was perfect. Joanne and her husband very hospitable and provided directions for a perfect mountain walk, which was delightful. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect

Amazing location, lovely owner, excellent cabin - so handy for our trip to Antur Stiniog. The cabin is spotless and very well equipped. This was our second visit and won’t be our last.

Relaxing, peaceful but fabulous stay . Defiantly recommend !

This was the best stay we have experienced in a long time. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful, the spot where the lodge is was perfect with great views. The walks were stunning! Even though you’re in the middle of nowhere the local shops are 8 min drive should you need supplies . We all made some fabulous memories .

It’s a heaven

The location is like heaven. Beautiful scenery with sheeps, horses and rivers and streams. The owners live nearby and they are very friendly and welcoming. I recommend visiting this place to my friends and families as well…

Lovely cabin in a great location

We had a wonderful stay at Penystryd cabin in Trawsfynydd. The location is perfect—peaceful and scenic, yet just a 20-minute drive to the stunning Cader Idris hike, which was a highlight of our trip. The cabin itself was clean, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The host was very friendly and helpful, always quick to respond and offer assistance when needed. One small detail to note: it seemed like the bedsheets may not have been changed before our arrival, and one set was missing, but this was a minor issue in an otherwise lovely experience. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely return!

A lovely little place, tranquil location, a great get away!

It’s a lovely little place. Had everything we needed. Peaceful and tranquil location with beautiful nature and views. A perfect get away. Joanne was a great host and ensured we were settled and felt welcome. Peanut, Bee and Magic added their own element of attraction and fun to our stay. My girls loved them! Great little place. Thank you very much.

We struggled sleeping on the sofa bed, it wasn’t comfortable.

Wonderfull hosts and serene location

Thanks, Joane & Les for going out of the way to get us moving and fixing our flat tyre. Also, the kids had a memorable time with all the animals on the farm esp with Skye & socks.

The place itself was amazing and something I would consider visiting again. Joanna was amazing from start to finish. What more could I ask for when the host made it easier for me and friends to enjoy our holiday. I couldn't be more appreciative of joanna as she went out of her way to come and collect us from where we had broken down. The stay at penystryd was a new experience for all 3 of us that stayed. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Thanks Joanna for your hospitality. Hopefully we will have better weather next time to hopefully enjoy the surrounding area more. But never the less we had an amazing stay.

Only slight negative was the shower water wasn't as hot as would have liked. Then again i could blame my friend for taking longer than he should have lol. Apart from that it was amazing.

The people who run this are super friendly, it’s a wonderful option for couples or families with young kids.

Cosy, great location for walks and scenery. Clean and quiet.

The main foldout bed could be better quality, the springs were quite weak. The lighting could be improved with more desk lamps.

Lovely little family adventure

Great location with stunning views. The cabin was lovely and had all facilities we needed. We stayed with a 1 year old and 4 year old. They loved it! We put a travel cot on the mezzanine next to the mattresses. The stairs are open and the mezzanine barrier low so had to watch the littlest constantly upstairs if not in the travel cot. The host was very friendly and helpful and the two dogs were lovely, Skye and Socks, the kids loved them stopping by to see us. We stayed here and travelled into Barmouth to go crabbing and play on the beach.

It was a bit difficult to block out light for getting little kids to sleep!

I liked the location the host was amazing and very friendly. You could see the amazing view from the cabin and the views are never the same everyday and the surrounding areas were very clean no mess anywhere.

Fantactic accomodation with the most lovely hosts. The place was very tidy and beautifully finnished inside.We stopped here with our son and he was over the moon, and the extra benefits of being able to play with Socks and Skye have certainly made the whole experience 10/10!

A very warm welcome from the lovely owners. The property was absolutely fantastic, everything we could need and so well presented. In a perfect rural location, surrounded by amazing scenery. A short drive to the coast and well placed for visiting other parts of the wonderful area. We will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely, accommodating, and friendly hosts and cosy, unique hut.

Such a unique stay. Gorgeous, cosy little shepherd’s hut style stay in even lovelier surroundings. The tree house feel to the sleeping area was amazing.

It would have been great to have TV or internet, but that’s coming from a city slicker!

Our stay in the chalet was amazing, the views was what we were looking for and Joanne and Les were very welcoming. Very neat and clean, it had everything that we needed as a family. We will definitely come back for longer stay.
