The remoteness of the property and its location were amazing. Just a few kilometres off the main road, and you were in a remote, beautiful and quiet part of the world surrounded by nature. The host couldn't have made us feel more welcome, inviting us to use her home, as our own. It's a rustic property that allows you to feel immersed into nature and involved with their rescue programme, working closely with Cape Nature. Our room had electricity, however there are two cottages a little further than the main house which are completely off the grid, and we'd love to return, and stay in one of these. We enjoyed a 3-night stay, and felt like family when we left.
Unfortunately, as we were travelling by heavily laden motorbike (cruiser) we found the 8km gravel road to the location a little corrugated and rough for the road bike.

We had a wonderful one-night stay at this wild nature reserve. The surroundings were incredibly peaceful, and we really appreciated being immersed in nature – it felt like a true escape. Gill and Brenda were fantastic hosts: very friendly, welcoming, and informative, which made the experience even more special.
It’s worth noting that the reserve is quite isolated, and the gravel road leading there is a bit bumpy, especially if you’re driving a non-4WD or compact car. That said, it didn’t detract from our stay at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again.
