About this apartment rental
This converted barn is a hiker’s dream because, while it's nothing flashy, it's within waking distance of England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike. But not just that. You can also hike over to Wast Water, the most dramatic and deepest of the area's lakes, and to a number of stunning waterfalls.
The home is the perfect place to relax after a full day of walking and exploring, with a cosy vibe, ancient wooden beams, and simple furnishings. There's even an original spy hole to be discovered upstairs.
Kickstart your evening with a long bath before relaxing in the garden with a well-deserved beer or two. When the summer sun shines on the verdant garden, it's an idyllic place to watch the world peacefully go by. We loved the romance of sunset whilst the sky gradually turned to a gorgeous red.
The sleepy retreat is set in the village of Boot, a quaint collection of cobbled streets and sweet shops. There are a couple of nice pubs to try out too, and supplies can be picked up in Eskdale, a five-minute drive away.
Home truths:
* You'll need a car to explore this beautiful area
* A fold-out Z bed is available on request – it's quite small so is best suited for a child or teenager
* The home has a ground floor bedroom and bathroom, making it ideal for someone with limited mobility
* One of the upstairs bedrooms is galleried and therefore open to the downstairs living space – but there is a curtain to pull across for privacy
Cleaning & other feesWe include all stay related fees in the Cleaning Fee line, which may include cleaning, property manager, resort, tourism and other stay related fees. All PlumGuide properties are professionally cleaned after each stay.
