This modern country escape on the outskirts of Bath is built on an old horse stable site, overlooking the gorgeous Somerset countryside – if that doesn't scream out sweet rural whisperings, then we don't know what will. It would make a great stay for a family or large group of friends eager to explore the UNESCO World Heritage centre of Bath – a twenty-minute drive away – as well as Bristol (20 miles), Stroud and the countryside around Charlcombe, where you can walk in the footsteps of Jane Austen herself – under half a mile from your estate. Return home after a blissful day spent sightseeing, walking and basking in the sunshine. Stepping in to look around the decor, you'll notice a uniquely designed home with five bedrooms, a slick marble-topped island kitchen and an open-plan living quarter with huge sofas and views over the fields beyond – courtesy of the stylish floor-to-ceiling and black framed windows. Outside, you'll find a private patio, complete with garden furniture – we can think of no better way to start the day, than with a sunny breakfast sat out here. Gaze into the rolling green fields as you work from home at the dedicated office space. Come evening, sit down for a slow feast with the entire group in the chic dining area. No effort nor expense has been spared in creating this retreat that feels fresh and contemporary, while still holding onto its idyllic country roots.
