Wild Horses Lodge

Breakfast was excellent. Great variety daily! My husband loved the coffee variety and I enjoyed the juice. Was happy to find my favorite croissants! As well as a favorite "French Toast' in the mix of other variety! Wonderful fresh fruit daily. The view is exceptional from the room. The dinners were all of high standard and the deserts, well let's just say we licked our lips! The chef checked in often. The Hostess was just wonderful. She had a perfect balance on checking in with the guests and giving privacy. We enjoyed her sense of humor! What a gem. The 'barman' was very humorous, and always up to accommodating a different request. The decorative garnishes on the food was absolutely beautiful.

The wi-fi strength on the property we think can do with a booster or two. Not a 'dislike' but because of a health challenge we always mention that a handrail in showers would be a great safety feature.

The hospitality and welcoming were friendly. The lodge is a work of art every corner hides something amazing. The view over the Sterkfontein dam is breathtaking. The meals were delicious, beautifully presented and we did not leave the table hungry..Well done to the Chef.

The road to the Lodge is about 15km gravel.Most Avis rental cars should be able to do the road slowly. We had some lovely game and bird viewing in the reserve on our way to the lodge.

The property is secure clean and private.

There was no internet

the view was amazing

it is really far out, which is fine. however, on arrival, for a 5star establishment, they dont even offer you a snack or a cup of tea. Felt like there were too many staff around, and for such a small establishment, sometimes you need more privacy. The 4 bedrooms were also very small & very on top of the other guests. We could hear the other guests talking from our bedroom. The shower entrance was way too small to get into the shower. no cushions on the outside balcony of our bedroom. The bed was very short, especially for my tall husband. Also, i think its a rare occurrence to see any wild horses, so thats false advertising.
