Wyford Farm

This little place was such a blessing! 🤍🌿 We stayed at Poplar Cottage for 2 nights, and it was absolutely amazing. The cottage is spacious, beautifully decorated, and has a fireplace ready to use, which made it feel so cosy. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the beds are soooo comfortable that we felt like staying in bed all morning! One of the things we loved most was being surrounded by nature. 🐄🐑 🐎Animals wander around the property, and the views are absolutely beautiful. It’s such a peaceful place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature. Cecile also provides some amazing meats that you can buy and braai yourself. The quality of the meat and the taste were just absolutely delicious!

The only downside is that there’s no Wi-Fi in the cottage. However, the mobile coverage is good, so we could all easily use our own data. The road to the cottage is a farm road and can be a little bumpy, but honestly, it’s all part of the experience.

What a serene and tranquil place, the rooms are decorated beautifully, with a fireplace already packed and ready to light when we got there. They also offer meals that you can order beforehand, and it was delivered to our cottages which was such a nice touch.

Such a lovely farm stay. Quiet, peaceful., scenic and all tge amenities you need. A real gem hidden from the busy Van Reenenspas. Thank you Sheila for the good directions. I loved the grazing sheep in front of the cottage, tge quiet horses taking a dip in the dam before sunrise. And the most beautiful sunrise 🌅

Lovely little cottage. Quiet and secluded and well equipped.

1. We notified Cecile that we had arrived. Told her the access road was "less than ideal for a non-4x4". Her response was slightly aggressive, and she told us that she had been using the road for a long time and that it doesn't require a 4x4. That is not how I would have expected customer complaints to be treated. We did not push it any further because there are many, many other options in the vicinity to choose from. We don't need the host telling me "It ain't so" 2. The Wi-Fi did not work as advertised (seemed like the data package at MTN ran out). Due to the attitude from Cecile we didn't feel comfortable to complain about that as well. It was a long drive, we were tired and in no mood for conflict. So we spent the evening using our mobile data 3. The overall engagement was not great, either. If it was my place, I would have said "Welcome to the farm, let me know if you require anything". And afterwards "Thanks for the stay, hope you enjoyed it. We realize you could have chosen many other options, is there anything we can do better?" 4. It's really a pity, because we loved the place - it's convenient, quiet, secluded and comfortable.
