The Butchers Arms Freehouse

Had a great night’s sleep, nice and quiet. Very good value considering just 15 mins drive to Aldeburgh.

A few decor details needed attention- bathroom shelf just had the supports (although handy for towels), and the tv mounting hadn’t worked. Didn’t cause a problem though.

It was a good location with privacy and everything I needed.

Could have done with a bit of work to neaten up the paintwork etc

Lovely quiet Area. Breakfast was great, 'young' gentleman was very polite and chatty, made us feel welcome. We needed to able to book-in early, it wasn't a problem with the owners. Cabin was basic, but that was what we were after, didn't need any more. All in all, a great stay.

Pub garden could have done with a spruce up, but that didn't affect our stay at all.

My room was shabby and not very clean. There were holes and marks in the wall. The room looked like it hadn’t been touched in years. An old dusty television bracket hanging loosely on the wall that wasn’t in use. The fridge was smelly. Brackets that once held a shelf above a very small sink in the bathroom but no shelf to place anything. Cheap metal hangers. No chair in the room. Cheap bedding and no mattress cover. Handwash but no shower gel. Toilet kept re flushing every minute or so. Luckily I had my earplugs so was able to get some sleep.
