The property itself served its purpose - barely - which was to overnight before a morning flight from Bristol airport.

We had to park some 400m away from the property (we got an email telling us of this requirement only AFTER we had booked), across a fairly busy main road. Access to the property was via a pitch black, unlit, alleyway and shingle track and the surrounds of the property were also unlit. All in all very far from ideal with luggage and an elderly member of the party. Accessing the key in the lock box would be well nigh impossible in the dark - luckily we arrived just in the nick of time.

A really good, short but sweet one night stay in a perfect location for the airport

Lovely property. Everything we needed for a brief one night stay

Access is a little tricky but probably much easier if you don’t arrive in the dark as we did. Its not lit at all and whilst its a nice area, I would have found the lack of lighting and tricky access a bit overwhelming to navigate on my own.

A peaceful and comfortable stay in an ideal location - we will definitely return if visiting the area again.

Te owner, Henry, was very friendly and welcoming and was onsite next door to answer any queries. His cottage was extremely comfortable and surprisingly spacious. It was very tastefully decorated to a high standard and furnished with comfortable beds and some pieces of lovely antique furniture. The bathroom appeared to be new and had a good shower. Having the large windows brought in a lot of light and gave a sense of space extending to the private little outdoor terrace. We were also pleasantly surprised how peaceful the house is considering it is right near a busy road. The traffic could barely be heard. The location was perfect for the short drives into Bristol and to the coast - Clevedon and Portishead - both are really worth a visit.

The kitchen was a bit sparse of decent cooking equipment and some basic essentials and I flagged this up to the owner who was very happy to take my feedback on board and will, no doubt, stock up as requested for future guests. Apart from that we would love to return if we are in the area again!

Could do with improvements

Cottage was generally well located to explore the area and was warm and quiet (odd aircraft sound). Plenty of space and a friendly host

Distance from parking place to cottage along a long unlit gravel path was very tricky and back-breaking with luggage (has to be carried). Cottage often smelt musty especially the bathroom, despite heating, with evident damp/mould; windows were very difficult to open. Staircase is quite awkward and not suitable for children, elderly or disabled. Towels were hard and smelly, despite being replaced twice. Found the beds soft and not comfortable for us. Sofas were also very low, soft and uncomfortable. Very small fridge that was tricky to bend down to and minimal work surfaces, okay for a one night stay but not for longer. WiFi was patchy and had to reconnect TV to get it to work. One bedside light has a dodgy switch. Needs a welcome pack / guides i.e. recycling

Very handy for the airport. Great one night stay especially if you don’t want a hotel. Host very amenable and communication excellent. Warm and king size bed very comfortable.

Parking location leaving the car on the other side of the main road in a residential side street. The residents gave us rather disparaging looks for parking, there but no choice I think a small welcome pack would be very helpful for guests

Overall a comfortable stay in a peaceful location.

For our purposes it was a great location visiting family. Easy walking distance to the pub for dinner and local shops. I can imagine it’s great in the summer to make use of the outside.

Parking is not at the property and the car had to be left in a cul-de-sac nearby. Access to the cottage is via a narrow gravel path which wasn’t ideal in the dark.

A stay in rural Somerset

Peaceful location in beautiful orchard garden. Lovely to walk up Hillside Road and into the fields and woodland.

Don’t be put off by the lack of a driveway. Parking across the road worked fine and finding the alley is an adventure. All this is fully explained in the notes.

A lovely property with character. An enjoyable stay

It was a quite location, although near a busy road, we felt like we were in the country. The garden is beautiful full of apple and fruit trees, near to Bristol and some historic houses. The Rising Sun pub food had great food and just a 5 min walk from the property. There are some small supermarkets to grab some basic essentials within a 10 min walk. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well equipped, Great layout of the property and homely.

We didn't find it an issue, but parking is restricted adjacent to the property, but there is plenty of parking across the road.

Gorgeous cottage - highly recommended

Location was perfect for us - only 10 minutes from Bristol Airport - very quiet - so slept really well, important as we had a v early flight one morning. Henry was the perfect host - so helpful and amenable - nothing was too much trouble for him - very quick to answer questions - either on the app or by phone.

Instructions to find were excellent. Safe, on street convenient parking 15 metres away. Cool open plan living and kitchen area with bifold doors and terrace onto lovely orchard garden. Good shower and good sized bedrooms. Ideal if travelling from Bristol airport or looking to tour North Somerset and visit Bristol.

We had a fantastic stay at this gorgeous cottage tucked away on the outskirts of Bristol. It's hidden down a secret little alley, which made it feel like a real hidden gem. The garden was absolutely beautiful – a proper quintessential English garden, perfect for a peaceful cup of tea or just soaking up the atmosphere. Inside, the cottage was light, airy, and modern – really thoughtfully done with everything we needed. We stayed the night before an early flight from Bristol Airport and it couldn’t have been a more relaxing or convenient stopover. Highly recommend – we'd love to come back!

Beautiful house

I loved the place. I would say though it's not adapted for a disabled person as I am. As you can't park near the property so that was difficult with carrying the bags along the pathway and with a 4 year old. I feel this needs to be made aware of on the holiday information before people book. But other than that this is a beautiful house and I couldn't fault it, everything is there you have a garden it was superb.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable when the heating finally came on

Being older and with difficulty walking far, we found the access hard for us. But perhaps that was my mistake in not reading the information on the website properly.

Very well located house, good for a stay before going to Bristol airport

We needed a one night stay for a really early Bristol airport flight but didn't want a small hotel room. The property is located at the back of the main house (which is owned by Henry, a very helpful and accommodating host who communicated prior to our arrival and was happy to answer queries). To get to the property you have to walk across the garden of the main house which does feel a little odd, but one at the property itself it is very private and feels separate. Henry happened to be in the garden as we arrived which was helpful as he showed us where the lockbox/door key was. The property was clean, warm and comfortable with everything we needed for a one night stay. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen facilities good and overall we would consider staying here again for a Bristol airport early flight - it is a very easy 10 minute drive to the airport.

Parking wasn't ideal as you have to park in a road opposite the entrance to the actual road the property is in, which might not be the easiest if you had bags to unload and walk up to the property with. However this was made clear in the welcome instructions Henry sent, and advice was given on the best place to park. This could perhaps have been detailed more specifically in the property details on Booking.com as all it said was that parking was available offsite. Not a real negative as it was made clear in our welcome instructions - and wasn't that far away. Shower did have an issue with dripping (we didn't use it but it did drip for most of the time we were there) didn't cause any inconvenience for us particularly but just wanted to note.

Terrible Experience. Avoid This Place.

Our stay was incredibly disappointing. The Wi-Fi was completely non-functional, and there was no cell network either—it felt like we were stranded in the middle of nowhere. To make matters worse, the heaters didn’t work, and we were freezing throughout the night. There was no hot water available, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Additionally, there was a mysterious door inside the house that we couldn’t open, yet someone came through it in the morning and told us we had to leave five minutes before our scheduled checkout time. This felt intrusive and unsafe. Overall, the place didn’t feel secure or comfortable at all, and I cannot recommend it to anyone.
