It’s a wonderful family home in the heart of the medieval castle, with very nice indoor and outdoor spaces.

Nothing - it is a beautiful place in all respects.

The most generous host we've ever come across! Rafael provided everything we could possibly have needed or wanted. The house is big, located within the city walls, and like a carefully nurtured time capsule of Portuguese life 60 years ago (except with mod cons!) There are different sitting areas in the spacious backyard, where we sat for our meals. We were centrally located to explore this amazing town and walked everywhere, including a circumnavigation on the town walls. We loved everything and wouldn't hesitate to visit Rafael again if we return to Obidos.

House is charming, matched the character of the old town. Host was the best we've had. Excellent communication, very attentive and helpful. Location was perfect, within the castle wall. And a great value. Loved it.

This is a unique rental property. Rafael the Owner/operator is the grandson of original owner so has a deep connection to the house and Obidos itself. He is fluent in English, which is great as our Portuguese is nil. In dozens of vacation rentals over the years, this one was especially delightful for his in person welcome, he made sure we had all the information we needed as well as the most complete kitchen essentials including eggs, fresh fruits, milk and bread, way beyond the usual basics. The back yard is extensive and wonderful at all times of the day with both sun and shade. Location is excellent. We happened to be staying on Easter weekend and the Good Friday procession goes right by the house which was a bonus!

Rafael and his wife have done a great job, no complaints or suggestions.
