Old Wood Coach House

Amazing location nestled down a private track at the edge of a forest trailhead. Yet still only a 15 min drive into Lincoln or 5 min drive to a village shop for any essential supplies. The mud room / utility entrance downstairs is fantastic, especially with our dog. The main cabin upstairs is sensibly laid out, the two bathrooms was really helpful and the balcony just lovely for watching the world go by. There was loads of space and everything was high quality and super clean and tidy. Outside the garden is completely enclosed so made early morning and late evening doggy toilet trips a breeze and meant she could run around when we were outside too. The owners were lovely, kept in regular contact leading up to our arrival and departure, being very flexible when our arrival was delayed. They thoughtfully left out crumpets, homemade jam and gin as well as butter, milk and a cake (which we sadly couldn't enjoy due to dietary preferences/allergies).

Whilst it was great to be 'off-grid', the lack of wifi was a bit frustrating for planning days out, checking weather forecast, and keeping in touch with family etc. Especially when there is such limited phone signal, I think it should be made clear as could be a real issue for some people. The main bedroom was very warm for sleeping. We ended up sleeping under the duvet cover (minus duvet) with both windows open, having turned off the heating hours before, in mid-March, could be very uncomfortable in summer. Maybe a lighter duvet would have helped, it was a very heavy synthetic duvet. The water pressure wasn't great, so showers weren't very powerful so difficult to wash thick / long hair, and took a long time for the bath to fill. It also meant the dog shower wasn't particularly effective so we went back to using out powered travel dog washer outside instead.

Directions given meant finding the property was very straight forward, we were warmly greeted by our hosts, the house itself was immaculate, and felt very much like a "home away from home." we found it hard to leave, so will definitely be staying again.

The shower was difficult to get the water temp down and had to use the towel to turn the knob but that was the only thing
