Chateaudun Opéra

Great location for Monmatre and the 9th arrondissement. Aircon wasn’t brilliant but still very desirable due to the heatwave. Balcony was great. Close to a few metro lines. Great eateries off the main boulevard. A good basic hotel with friendly staff.

This hotel is ideally situated to explore Paris on foot. The room was a decent size, the bed was large and comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. We were able to store our luggage with the hotel for the day after checkout at no extra charge.

The hallways and elevator were very narrow, but this is extremely common in Parisian buildings - not a problem for us as we were travelling for one night, but worth noting if you have a lot of luggage. The French doors in the first floor room opened onto the street, which was great for allowing in a breeze, but the street got pretty noisy in the morning. Not a fault of the hotel, of course.

Building looks better from outside than room. Cute little lobby. Good exercise room. Breakfast room was tastefully decorated, breakfast very good, tables cleared and service good. Rooms well equipped with dryer, good shower, safe, tiny frig. But room hasn't been decorated in 30 years. Bedspread was so dusty and dirty I dont think it had ever been washed. Staff was very helpful but room was huge disappointment.

Room was old, tired, with tiles darling off in bathroom. Bedspread was unclean.
