Kihei is noted for its year round sunshine, balmy trade winds and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches of rain a year!

We spent 29 nights in May at this well located condo. The grounds and views were great. But the condo could use some new updates. Check-in and out were easy. We did find someone's baby underwear under the small table next to the TV stand and a 3 year old Costco receipt between the sofa cushions. Could have been oversight by the cleaning crew. We did enjoy our daily breakfast on the lanai listening to all the birds.

We loved staying here. It is roomy for a small unit, and has everything we needed. A washer/dryer, 2 baths, an elevator to all floors (not a "given" in Maui). If you're looking for a "Luxury unit", this is not that. This is a functional, well kept "older" unit that is "rustic" in our opinion. Not new, but comfortable to relax in after our days of activity. Very clean, and a price we could not pass up. In fact, we can't find anymore vacant weeks on the calendar. It is perfect for us, and has a "daybed" of sorts and a foldout couch for extras if you have them. If you aren't looking for "top of the line", and don't mind cupboards and cabinets that are a bit "dated", this is for you. Plenty of parking, a beautiful pool area and the beach a little further on. The grounds are immaculate! There's even a putting green in the lawn that people seem to love. It looks like Astroturf, and they work HARD to make it look perfect. The lanai is shaded on the "B" side of the building, so you don't get direct sunlight coming in. Nice to hang out there. Again, we loved it!

Maui Sunset is one of the best locations for windsurfers. this is not the best beach for swimming but there are plenty nearby. The accommodation was comfortable but did require some updating.
