Hakuna Matata Residence & Apartments

Clean. Friendly owner and staff. Modern and comfortable. The view is amazing and the beach just across the road. Good size pool and the beds comfortable. There was a a freezer, TV with internet access (Netflix account can be added to watch your own programs) and good food WiFi. The resort location is good. Just 10 min from Vloere center.

There were a few minor issues with the accommodation, such as missing essentials (a sharp knife and scissors), a small leak near the boiler beside the washing machine, and inconsistent hot water in the shower. The biggest issue, however, was the shared facilities with the neighbouring Toto Hotel. The sunbeds reserved for Hakuna Matata guests were regularly occupied by Toto Hotel guests. Even when we reserved them with towels, the towels were removed. We had to confront guests several times ourselves before staff eventually intervened (once) after we complained, even then it continued in this manner and not wanting to play police or keep asking for help-we gave up. The same happened in the private Hakuna Matata area, where hotel guests frequently entered because it was never clearly indicated or enforced that it was for Hakuna Matata guests only. We were also very disappointed with the location of our duplex (No. 3) on the resort. It is directly next to the Toto Hotel bar, which meant constant noise, loud music, and early morning disturbance from breakfast service (and the World Cup being watched on the big screen directly across from our private sitting area- which was no fun I can tell you). We regularly had to ask hotel guests to leave our private seating area, and on a couple of occasions people even walked into our accommodation by mistake. It also had a significant smaller private area with no sun bed or such, in contrast to the other duplexes, while the prices were the same The atmosphere created by some of the neighbouring hotel’s guests was also concerning. One family, including children, was openly smoking cannabis in front their own children and everyone else’s (young) children, and no staff member ever intervened. The only time I saw the neighbouring hotel owner come to the pool was when a family was flying a drone over the pool, disturbing guests and invading everyone’s privacy without warning or permission.

Great place! shared pool was really nice. The beach is very close, beautiful, and there are many restaurants nearby. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

The private pool was very cold

Udsigten og den store pool. Størrelsen på lejlighederne. God stor terrasse. Kort afstand til pool.

Køkkenet havde lidt mangler: skærebræt, skarp kniv og en saks, ville være dejligt. Vi gjorde opmærksom på at der var 2 spots på badeværelset der ikke virkede samt lyset i spejlet, men blev ikke lavet under vores ophold. LED lys ved trappen virkede ikke. Hængekøje på terrassen mangler en ny krog/karabinhage, den har set bedre dage. Lidt flere tøjbøjler ville være rart. Bordben på rundthavebord skævt. Internettet virkede ikke i 2 dage. Beskrivelsen bør helt klart laves om, alle lejligheder ved Hakuna Matata kan benytte den lille private pool, men det indtryk for man ikke når man booker. Vi havde booket 2 lejligheder og den lille pool er kun nævnt ved den ene lejlighed.

Property was nice and clean with a beautiful views

The ”villa” itself wasnt a own villa, more likely bigger hotel room with not any privacy at all. We were looking in the pictures how it would look and it gave a whole different feeling about villas privacy
