Riu Republica - Adults Only - All Inclusive

When I arrived at the beginning where security is located before reaching the lobby, the female security guard did not provide me with good service because I did not have a reservation and she would not let me into the lobby and did not pay attention to me. I had to leave to make the reservation and then return after 3 hours. If I had not come from so far away, I would have gone to another place.

Everything! The grounds were beautiful and clean. The staff was attentive and courteous. There was not much of a language barrier at all. I will definitely be back again.

Friendly & Welcoming Staff: The overall staff at the resort was incredibly friendly and pleasant to interact with throughout the stay, which really helped balance out the room issues. The Spa & Relaxation: The spa and wellness services were an absolute highlight. The treatments were high-quality and provided a genuine sanctuary to decompress and unwind. Overall Food & Dining: Aside from one specific hiccup, the general buffet and on-property dining options were solid, making it easy to find good daily meals without a hassle.

Dangerous Shower Infrastructure: The shower floor had a missing metal drain grate, leaving a completely open gap instead of being flush. This is an incredibly dangerous trip and injury hazard in a wet environment. No In-Room Phone (Major Safety/Service Gap): The room had absolutely no working telephone. If you need basic room service, water replenishment, or worse—have a medical emergency—you are forced to physically leave your room and track someone down. Lacking a basic line of communication is a major safety liability. Initial Maintenance & Stench: The first night had some immediate roadblocks, including a total lack of hot water and broken electrical receptacles in the room. Additionally, there was a highly noticeable, unpleasant stench right outside the room area. Mangú Buffet Quality Control: While the overall dining was fine, the hamburger meat at the Mangú buffet was absolutely disgusting and completely missed the mark on quality control.
