Cave-like rooms

Great location and cute outdoor spaces.

The majority of rooms are downstairs and they feel like caves, complete with musty smell, even though they get aired daily. The bleak lighting doesn't help. I picked this hotel because the listing clearly stated that the room was upstairs. I also messaged the hotel to reiterate my request for an upstairs room. But when I got there, I was told that on low-occupancy days, only downstairs rooms were allocated. That's fine, but then I would have stayed elsewhere.

Beautiful place

The interior is so beautiful, felt like you're sightseeing inside the hotel. The rooms are clean and comfy, water in the shower gets hot quick and has a good pressure. It stays nice and cool inside thanks to the thick walls. Big TV with streaming services and a cute patio with seating are a nice bonus. Our Spanish is sadly not good so we didn't get to chat with the personel but they seemed nice and asked if we need cleaning or anything else every day.

The wi-fi only worked well for a few hours on our first day and then got really bad. Might have been because of the daily storms.

Charming place in the middle of Puebla

Absolutely charming little place in the heart of Puebla. The location really is excellent! Room was large clean and comfortable, as was the bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and I felt it was very good value - I would definitely return.

The bathroom was pretty small (but everything worked well). There was some noise from a neighbouring room. The lighting options were limited (bright clinical overhead light or very dim bedside lamps) but these are very minor points.

would be nice to have a common bar area where one can go make a cup of coffee or get hot water themselves… so you don’t have to bother the hotel receptionist for hot water every time.

Central but loud

Very central, next to markets and restaurants. The staff were super nice and always willing to help. Hot shower Comfortable bed

Wifi was weak, good for emails but not strong enough for videocalls. There is a bar or event space nearby and played loud music until 5am both nights. Not for light sleepers. But if you don't mind then the location is superb.

Wonderful

This hotel is conveniently located in the historical center, next to Museo El Amparo. I loved the decoration of the room and the common spaces of the hotel. It is a colorful and beautiful building. I also loved the little restaurant next door selling delicious cemitas. This was my favorite place to stay in Mexico during my vacation. The hotel makes you feel happy and grateful to visit Puebla.

Well located hotel near downtown

The place is nicely located, they were very accommodating since the room they gave us initially was very humid. We asked to change rooms, and they offer 2 solutions without any inconvenient. The staff was nice, there's a place next door where you can get breakfast, parking Is not far away from the hotel. Yu can easily visit the historical center farol the hotel.

The shower doesn't work very well, the shower head is too close to the wall making it hard to shower properly.

Good location, excellent wifi, but dark windowless rooms

Is only a 5-7 minute walk to the Zocalo. Wifi was excellent. It never lagged or dropped the signal even though I was on my laptop for hours. Staff at the hotel are very personable and accommodating, and most speak a bit of English. My room was cleaned very well during my stay. Shower was hot, and toiletries were provided. Walls are thick, and I did not hear the other guests. Rooms on upper level have high ceilings. The hotel is an old colonial style building with stone walls and a ground floor terrace.

Rooms are windowless, so are very dark and dimly lit. Rooms on the upper level are slightly brighter and have a less claustrophobic feel. I booked at the last minute on a holiday weekend, so price was higher than normal. Regular price is around $25 USD per night, including tax. I paid $37 USD, which was a bit overpriced. The block on which the hotel sits feels a bit deserted, as did the hotel itself. However, if you're looking for a quiet budget hotel near the Zocalo, but out of the immediate hustle bustle, you may like this hotel.

Great location, close to everything. I think Puebla is a really lovely city. Very nice people. Very fair value. Room was fine.

In retrospect, having a basic breakfast choice and in the room was unique to this hotel but maybe was because I was leaving early (can't remember). No complaints really though. Unfortunately, this was one of dozens of hotels that I reviewed 'at the time' but that were lost where b.com inserts a silly survey request just as you submit so my recall is bad here, weeks later.

due to the COVID restrictions we had to have our breakfast inside the room. the breakfast was very nice though 😊
