Sandy Toes Cottage

I’ve been to Newbiggin many times but first time at this property. Handy location for the beach,which is only a street away and down stairs, and the coast road. Excellent facilities in the kitchen and around the house, very clean and comfortable with a small yard to sit out in if it hadn’t been the end of February and the weather had been better. I had no problems parking directly outside the house. I had a few problems with the front door and key, my fault, but I was helped with that . The property was warm apart from the kitchen could get a little cold at times. There was a small bottle of milk in the fridge, tea coffee and biscuits left. There was an info pack, which included a lot of info, which I must admit I didn’t notice until the second day as I didn’t spend much time in the dining area where it was kept and I was out a lot. Just for reference the property is part of a one way system.

Only slight worry, as I have mobility issues, were the stairs which were steep and narrow but I got used to them the longer I was there. Because the landing is small I did put the stair gate across at night just in case, though there is a light sensor which comes on when you are on the stairs or near them.

So close to the beach, a real hidden gem.

Noisy older kids at back screaming and carrying on at night. No microwaveable dishes .
