Porto Platanias - Casa Di Porto

We had AI and the price we paid was very appropriate for the vacation we got. 3 times a day we could enjoy the buffet, 2 times a day there was a little snack corner and the AI bar was open every day from 10-23:30. The buffet had very good variety and the food tasted great! The all-inclusive drinks were also pretty good and there was lots of options to choose from. Since we booked through Booking.com we got a voucher to check out the Sparkling Spa (18+) for an hour and free sunbeds on the beach throughout our whole stay which made a big difference. The beach is sandy and on a windy day there were big waves which was very fun for us. The beach bar drinks are not included in AI so bare that in mind. Our room had bathrobes, slippers, shaving-, dental-, sewingkits and two bottles of water in the fridge so that was nice. Also a press coffee jug and a kettle. We requested a double bed and it's always a little worrying because in some hotels it's just two twins pushed together. This was not the case here. There were two twins in this hotel as well but they had put a mattress or something over so the beds stayed together and you could barely tell the bed wasn't actually a double so that was very appreciated by us! The cleaning crew was also very attentive and any time our room needed cleaning (even a bit later in the morning) they always came and changed our towels and wiped down the floors. Overall the hotel appearance was modern and there were so many pools to swim in. The hotel is in the middle of Platanias town so there were lots of shops and restaurants near. This hotel was definitely worth the money! I have yet to find another hotel with the beach this close and all the other amenities that we got to enjoy.

Since I had been here 3 years ago I knew what to expect a little bit. However some things left a little to be desired compared to my last stay. Our room was different and wasn't as luxurious as the last time, despite having the exact same room type booking. The windows weren't as big and one problem was the shower. The shower pressure was amazing but there was no holder on the wall to put the hose. You had to hold it in one hand and try to wash your hair with the other. Not a huuge problem but for someone with long hair, like me, it might be difficult. Another thing was the shower door - it did not close all the way and there was a small gap underneath so a lot of the water came out during the shower. We also got one free A La Carte dinner with a set menu and I have to say - that was a bit of a disappointment. The portions were very big and for a 5 course dinner it was just too much. Some courses tasted good but some were not to our taste. I think I would not go to the dinner again and just eat at the buffet the next time. One of the biggest problems with this hotel is the sunbed availability. The last time I was there we could still snag some sunbeds on the beach but this time the sunbeds near the pool and the beach were all taken at around 9am. Even though there are signs everywhere telling guests to not reserve sunbeds with their towels, it seems like nobody really cares about that and most of them are taken by towels as early as 6am! Wish the hotel would do something to improve the situation because we came in October I can't imagine how some people can enjoy their vacation in the peak times like jun-aug with no sunbeds. Since I had a last time to compare my stay to, I could say a few things have changed for the worse. Not anything big, but the drinks are no longer served in glasses and you could tell that there might have been some budget cuts. I still enjoyed my stay very much but for a 5 star hotel I would hope for a little more luxury :)

Amazing complex with multiple pools, a private beach and more than enough sun loungers, even if you go a bit later (Casa di Porto is part of the main Porto Platanias Beach & Spa hotel). The food was very good and varied, not your typical all inclusive standard, and the queue at the bar was never very long. Amazing view from the restaurant as well, and all the staff were also lovely. Our apartment was set over 2 floors, both of which had their own outdoor patio, and there were split units for the AC, so each floor could be set to a different temperature if desired. The location was also fantastic, right in the centre of Platanias, but it was also very quiet at the hotel itself without noise from the bars and restaurants.

The beds weren’t the most comfortable, especially the sofa bed, but this is the only very minor negative

Excellent choice of food with lovely rooftop tables available. Great service from everyone.
