Quirky little penthouse apartment in Estepona old town

The penthouse apartment was in a really great location in the old town and close to the bars./restaurants and beach. You gain access to the property by using a door code that is sent to you. It is a small 2 bedroom apartment with small well equipped kitchen and shower space/bathroom - a bonus was the little roof terrace which would be lovely to sit out when the weather is warmer. There were also TV's in each room where you could access Netflix/Prime etc. I really liked the quirkiness of this apartment

You have to pay a $150 deposit before they will release the key code/access by transferring via international Bank transfer or using something like Revolt. This was a very unusual request and I have never been asked this before when using Booking.com so it did cause me some anxiety for my 2 day stay. However, we eventually agreed a work around with the help of Tony & Jesus and I am pleased to say the deposit was returned to me the day after I returned to the UK.

Manager difficult about us paying the deposit. We still haven’t got the deposit back even though he said that we left the apartment perfect. The amount of effort to convince maintenance man to mend a broken pole.

Communication impossible.

No solution to bank transfer issue, leading to impossible check in. Received request for bank transfer to Spanish bank, not an iban number. The number is given only 15hours prior to check in. I ask for and proposed solutions would it be iban, credit card or cash at 7am in the morning. The employee did not answer to what I said replying same message at 3pm. Asked several times for a solution. I was eager to adapt but I needed to wait 8pm The day of check in to have appropriate answers. Too late for me, I finished in another hotel. The lack of communication has been such a pain. The bank account number should be communicated far before.

amazing location right in old town. easy communication with owner and check in etc. clean and fresh towels, basic kitchen facilities and water on arrival.

quite small and dark. doesn't actually have a terrace attached to the room. asked for 150 euro deposit before allowed to check in... which we think booking.com should provide the necessary security for the owner. I have never been asked this before.

Do not book here !!!

Don't book here and get yourself a better place and a host. This is bribery as they ask a deposit to be transferred first, no credit card allowed, and after you have left they sent you a photo of a damaged bedlamp, and charge you 30 euro for this !! I would no be surprised if they do it to you too. By the way the place if too small anyway so you can't move without bumping into other stuff. Avoid being robbed and loosing your money here! As a mater of fact I took photo's before I left when I do a deposit just in case. Yet they still dare to say I broke a cheap lamp and withheld 30 euro from my deposit !!

The booking process was unnecessarily complicated. I reserved the property on the same day via Booking.com and paid immediately, all while traveling with limited internet. A few hours later, I was contacted via email and WhatsApp, demanding a 150€ deposit via bank wire, which wasn’t mentioned in a way to be able to read it. I was more hidden somewhere in terms in conditions. Since I was on the road, it was impossible to process a bank transfer. I offered to provide a credit card or PayPal payment upon arrival, but they refused both options and insisted only on a wire transfer. When I arrived at the property, no one answered my calls or opened the door. I was essentially locked out and left stranded. I attempted to cancel the booking so I could find proper accommodation that accepted standard payment methods, but they refused to cancel and still charged me for the stay. This experience was stressful and unprofessional. I do not recommend this property, especially if you’re booking last-minute or expecting standard hospitality and flexibility.

I recommend this place. I loved the location, right next to the beach.

It was nice that the host sent us a lot of information on what to see and where to eat well. I liked the location and the balcony.

I wasn't prepared to pay a 150 euro deposit immediately after doing the auto check in. Even being in 2 people, there was a shortage of cups and some kitchen utensils.

Great stay in old town Estepona - recommended!

Great location right in the old town! The bedrooms are good sizes, small kitchen but for us we eat out so was fine. Terrace was great and lovely shower and bathroom - recommended!

The blind in one of the bedrooms allows quite a bit of sunlight through but the other has a shutter. Wasn't a problem but something to be mindful of if wanting to sleep in late.

friendly host, he waited for us in person upon our arrival.Central location and the apartment was extremely clean. The terrace was a nice extra and it helped a lot when we had to use the washing machine to dry our clothes outside. The apartment has been recently refurbished so all the equipment and electronic devices are new. All in all, I would come back. Estepona prices both in accommodation and restaurants have increased dramatically in the last 3 years as the city has been undergoing major urban development

At our first night there was noise from the restaurant below. During our stay, it stopped at midnight. Not a problem at all conisdering that in Spain pepole stays out till late.

Great apartment for a real vacation

Apartment with eveything what is needed for 4 people family.. Great localisation - very close to the beach as well as the beautiful small white streets. The best place in the apartment - terrace, always ready for us to have rest there and spend time together.

Not possible to rent bicycles. As far as we noticed - reservation of bicycles should be made during the reservation of apartment.

Lovely and perfect for a couple

The location is excellent as it is in walking distance to the beach, old town, restaurants etc but still very quiet. You cant hear the buzz of the town when inside. The host Antonio is very nice and helpful with tips what to do in the area (food, hiking etc) its is easy to park a rental car nearby for very little money.

We would have liked a little balkony and a bit more space. The bathroom is directly next to the bed and you don’t get any privacy. But if you like each other its not a big problem ;) I will bring my own espresso maker next time. The machine in the studio doesn’t really work.

Antonio and his brother was amazing hosts making sure we had a wonderful stay. Appartment was modern, nice (but small) bath room and good quality of AC. Location cant be better.

Perfect location- Perfect host!

The apartment is perfectly situated in the old town of Estepona and within only a few minutes of many bars, cafeterias y restaurants. Also, it is a 1 min walk to the beach. The apartment has everything one would need. Antonio is a perfect host and met us at the property and personally explained everything about the accommodation. Together, with his brother, Jesús, he provided Internet links to local restaurants and places of interest, which was really useful. For anyone considering booking these apartments, I would highly recommend them. It is clear that the host is very 'guest-orientated'. 10 out of 10 on every count!

Perfect Place to Stay in Estepona!

This apartment is a gem! Super modern with everything you need. Very stylish and comfortable. It feels very cosy to stay here. The shower is fantastic (better than mine at home!) The location is central to everything. It’s amazing because you are so close to the lively streets and restaurants but the apartment itself is lovely and quiet. Jesus was in contact for me to check in and was extremely friendly and kind. I will book this apartment again for sure!
