A lovely, hassle-free stay.

The property was much larger than it had seemed in the pictures, so that was a pleasant surprise. Equipped with all sorts of little things you might need, like toilet paper, salt and pepper, tea and coffee, dishwasher tablets etc.. Cosy living room, quirky crockery, excellent location. We had an issue with the electricity at one point, and the host dealt with it in a timelyand helpful manner.

The beds were unfortunately rather uncomfortable.

Needs cleaning

Excellent location near the center of Ballater. Also a good location to stay for attending the Gathering at Braemer.

Needs a good deep cleaning. Also, main bed and mattress is terrible. With some decluttering, deep cleaning, and fresh (professional) painting this property could be 5 star and fetch a higher price.

Directions not clear for how to use heat Not all heat units were working needs a facelift with new pillows and mattresses Sofa very dusty and dirty - I spent about 30 min cleaning.

Efficient for a short term stay

Location was steps away from town center

Place is “tired”. Could use some TLC. Only 2 so so bath towels, one hand towel in kitchen. Window at top of stairs wouldn’t close. There was no power when we arrived, had to call owner and have them walk me throw turning it back on. Something like that should have been checked prior to our arrival. Just a tip: if you are going to cater to international guests please provide instructions on how to operate the hot water heat systems and radiator controls

Great holiday in a lovely comfortable flat in a great location.

The flat was comfortable and suited us very well. Location was central and convenient. On the listing it said no WiFi. But there was, so that was a nice surprise. Overall we rather enjoy this place and our holiday. Would definitely stay here again.

There was nothing to complain about. We would suggest someone looks at the shower door as it kept opening when shower in use and an extra towel would be nice.

With proper organization this could be a little gem.

The location was excellent; near the shops, restaurants and bus stop. The kitchen was well equipped . There were good views from the front windows.

Not enough towels; plastic hanging from the side of the bath: Wi-Fi password on a scruffy piece of cardboard and not clear: heating instructions inadequate : pillows uncomfortable- 2pillows in one case! No instructions as too what to do with rubbish or bedding. Windows painted shut.

The property was tired and needed a good clean, needs decorating and new carpets desperately needs some TLC in side and out.

This could be good if the owner is prepared to spend some time and attention and a little bit of money bringing this up to an acceptable standard. Sadly the flaking paint, poor and unclean decor and dirty carpet made for a poor impression and there was a lingering dog smell in the front rooms (pointed out by previous reviewers). Beds and pillows uncomfortable.

Quiet street in centre of Ballater, well-equipped kitchen inc dishwasher, good electric shower. Flat has WiFi. Close to the co-op. Short walk to the bus stop for bus to Aberdeen.

Total power cut one evening. Had to spend £20 on electricity key card at nearest shop to get it working again. Was promised a refund of this but have never received it.

This was truly a home away from home. Perfect for a family and a dog. We loved the rustic charm, the colourful bedding and the comfy couches. If you are looking for a perfect, modern, crisp environment - book a hotel. If you're looking for somewhere to relax, put your feet up, listen to music in the kitchen and feel at home - then this is it! We'll definitely be back.

Excellent

The location is superb, right in the centre of the village, it had everything you could possibly need catered for in the apartment and it was much bigger than it appeared in the photos.

The decor could do with a little TLC but it was very clean so I have no complaints, there is a very large window at the top of the stairs on the landing that connects the living room to the bigger bedroom, this had no curtains or blinds on it, that was the only thing I didn’t like.

Amazing Location But Needs Work

Amazing Location, Fantastic Views. I'm returning and booked in next year for Victoria Week.

Quite a lot of doors, skirtings and door surrounds dirty, dirty carpet on stairs, and smell of wet dog in main bedroom. Loose wire on table lamp in bedroom so couldn't use, seemed dangerous. Attention to detail required. Hopefully done by next year when I return.
