A sensitive restoration of a traditional village house with all the modern comforts. 1919’s House in Asklipio was a perfect place to be in the heart of a small historic village in the mountains, with the sea a 5 minute drive down. Cafes and tavernas in walking distance.

The place was very interesting, spacious, with a great atmosphere of traditional Greek living. The kitchen is well equipped. The surroundings are tranquil and pleasant, walking about around the church and the castle are definitely worthwhile, one may even run into a deer or two in the outskirts. The locals are very friendly.
The AC is very slightly noisy, a new sponge in the kitchen and one or two portions of washing powder for the washing machine would be nice.

The house was very clean and complete with furnishings that in a clever way mix traditional elements with modern solutions. Although it does not have a dominant view over the valley, 1919's House is perfectly positioned in the village, being very close to the market, the restaurants and the parking for the auto.
The arrangement of the beds on the mezzanine is a typical solution of the Dodecanese islands (we changed three structures during our holidays and we have always found them) and we like it. In this case, perhaps the mezzanine was too custom-made for us (the only space available except the bed was a narrow passage all around).
