Cozy place for solo traveler in Oxford

Place is perfect for one person. The desk was spacious for my work and there were plenty of outlets. Only stayed one night, but I found the location easy to access and close to public transport and restaurants.

No clear instructions to lock the door and slower communication from host led me to leave door unlocked while I was gone and during the night. Other than that, the stay was wonderful!

Location

There was excessive amounts of mould on the bathroom ceiling. The bathroom sink was badly cracked and in need of replacement. The shower was sealed with tape and the tiles were in need of a good clean.

Clean quiet property with parking, perfectly located for a 10 minute us ride to central oxford

Perfect location with parking , 10 minute bus ride to middle of Oxford. Fan provided in the room which kept the room cool, quiet location. We had queries about when we could our park our car there and the hosts answered all our questions and went out of their way to assist.

We were given the wrong key code which was a panic as we arrived at about 10pm, however this was quickly resolved with a phone call

Only stayed for one night to attend an appointment at John Radcliffe hospital which was literally a 10 minutes walk. Since appointments there may be a semi regular occurrence in my future I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Maybe stick a curtain over the door so you’re not getting so much light in the room at the crack of dawn. Didn’t bother me personally but had I been travelling with my wife I know she would have grumbled at that.

Hidden gem in Oxford.

Yew Studio in Oxford exceeded all my expectations. Although it’s technically a flat rather than a hotel, I didn’t miss a single thing in terms of facilities, comfort, or location. It was a delightful and unexpected surprise. I booked it last minute due to a lack of hotel availability in the city, and I wasn’t expecting much. However, from the very first moment, Yew Studio managed to impress me. I was promptly contacted by the owners via email, and the access details were delivered with impeccable clarity, ensuring a seamless arrival. The studio itself is as comfortable as a hotel room but comes with added convenience. It has everything you could possibly need for a short stay, including a microwave, cutlery, and even an ironing board. I probably missed a small kitchen facility, but enjoyed the local take away delicacies instead. The entire space is spotless, with well-maintained furniture and a bathroom that deserves special mention—its shower was immaculate and a true highlight. Every little detail of the studio reflected care and attention, making the stay even more enjoyable. Yew Studio has now become one of my favorite places to stay in Oxford, and I’ll undoubtedly be returning soon.

A small kitchen facility would have been a bonus, but to be honest, that is unnecessary for a short stay.

Quiet, clean and comfortable place for an overnight stay

I chose this property on the convenience of the location to Brookes University where I was visiting, the fact that it had parking, was self contained and available for the night I required. The place was quiet and comfortable for a short stay with the host making it easy for me to access the property with minimum fuss, plus I liked the flowering orchid on the table which was a nice touch.

When I looked out of the window, sadly there was fence blocking any view out to the garden and what may have been a yew tree beyond. Whilst the place was clean, the furniture and surfaces were a little tired and worn in places. It was good to have a fridge, what looked like a cooker which I didn't use and some cutlery that I did, albeit here seemed to be nowhere but the bathroom sink to wash anything up in, so I was glad I'd brought a self contained bowl with my breakfast inside.

Well equipped apartment in a good location.

The accommodation was well equipped and is probably even suitable for long-term stays. The apartment was in a good location. Bus stops and supermarkets were close by. I really liked the self check in approach. The host gave a good and detailed description on how to get the keys and how to enter the building.

The apartment wasn't perfectly clean. I found leftovers from the previous guest in the fridge and the mirrors were quite dirty. But overall nothing really concerning.

The location for the hospital was excellent .We were there to visit a relative and we were able to walk to hospital from flat. It is near lots of shops and restuarants so ideal and would definately use again.

The Flat was perfect for our short stay and the cost was very reasonable.

The Studio Flat was very comfortable, clean and light. The shower/bathroom was also very clean and everything worked perfectly. The off-road car parking was a big plus. The Host was very charming and accommodating.

The smallest of criticism relates to the shortage of catering equipment to help with eating in. This wouldn't be enough of a problem to stop us renting the Flat again.

Very nice, clean place to stay. The host is kind and helpful

This was an unexpected visit to the hospital for my husband, for surgery. But the hospital didn't have a single bed for him for two nights. Being the man he is, he insisted on sleeping on the floor. We found the host to be very compassionate and understanding.
