Welcome to Fox Ridge, a four season vacation rental in Margaretville, NY. Located on top of the mountain at 2100 feet overlooking the valley with spectacular views of the private pond and the Catskill Forest Preserve on 9 very private acres. Only 2½ hours from New York City, Fox Ridge is an inviting escape for you, your family, and friends.
Come and enjoy our spacious, beautifully furnished contemporary home. Take in the sweeping views of the mountains and large swimming pond from the newly expanded deck or from inside the glass enclosed great room with soaring ceiling and stone fireplace. Enjoy the warmth of a roaring fire on a snowy winter night or on a cool summer evening. Come in the fall and take in the brilliant color display across the valley or rejuvenate in the spring with new life around you.
Eat in, cook on the grill, or try one of the many excellent area restaurants. Spend an evening at home playing pool or watching a movie on one of the flat screen TVs. Relax in the hot tub under the stars or roast marshmallows on the fire pit. Swim or kayak in the pond, dive in from the dock or go hiking on one of the easily accessible trails. Finish up the day in our new outdoor shower.
Try your hand at flyfishing on a clean mountain stream or golf at one of the nearby courses. Belleayre Mountain offers excellent skiing for the entire family in the winter and outdoor concerts in the summer. All of these activities and more are within minutes of the house.
The 3 level house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The bedrooms are furnished with extra comfy beds and fine linens. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one with twins, comfortably accommodating 6 people. Come with your family and friends or enjoy a romantic getaway for 2.

A mixed bag, but the beauty of the grounds and home makes it a for sure recommend. Not the cleanest, but not the worst. No towels in downstairs bath (found some in dryer before seeing in upstairs bath). Had to clean a dirty grill, and there was unbagged trash, recycling, and gunk in outside bins. Should have a nearby property manager to check clean and handle situations like the storm door that the landscapers shattered into a million pieces so vacationers don't need to clean up. As I texted the owner about the glass, I also made him aware that not needed, but no "welcome gift" as stated. He very kindly called in a gift card which we used to buy delicious local coffee. Only a few (but cute) shops open weekdays. Our dog (and we) really enjoyed the wrap around fenced deck with beautiful view. If you don't get creeped out by swimming in a dark pond, you might do more than the quick, refreshing dip that I did (if jumping, go off end of dock, not by ladder). If you hose out the kayaks (bugs), you will do more than the quick lap around that I did. If you are adept at making a fire (or happen to locate the firestarters), you will be able to enjoy the firepit, unlike us. But the next (rainy) day I spotted the firestarters in a basket and made a great fire in the beautiful indoor fireplace. You need to turn up the hot tub temp well before getting in or it will be tepid like my first time. Next day was fabulous. Didn't use the pool table or gas fireplace in basement, but nice options.

Everything was great! The property was expansive and beautiful equipped with everything we needed for a great and relaxing weekend. The house was in great shape and had all we needed. I have no complaints and we plan to be back again!

The little added touches were very heartwarming. We were so comfortable during our stay we felt almost no need to leave the property and greatly enjoyed the hot tub, swimming in the pond, and playing games. The proximity to town was convenient but still offered plenty of secluded peace. Overall we loved our week at the house!

House is perfect for a family getaway. Pond was a ton of fun and kitchen was fully equipped for our meals. Hot tub under the stars was a great way to end the day. Will definitely return
