Benci Lalli Apartment

O apartamento está numa zona muito central. Perto de supermercados e de toda a zona centro de Florença, com acesso rápido a restaurantes, museus e palazzos.

Estava tudo muito bem.

The location is great - within easy walking distance of so many major attractions yet it is quiet at night. The bedrooms are generously sized. The bathrooms have pretty good showers and plenty of hot water (although there was a wait for hot water upstairs). Our host was helpful and when we asked if we could have more glasses (there weren't enough for all five of us), she came round to deliver some the next day.

The kitchen is small and the facilities disappointing. When we checked in, we were told that the induction hob sometimes works and sometimes doesn't - it had been smashed in one corner so we wondered if it had not been working for some time. A plug-in electric hob was provided, which we used (it felt a bit like camping). The supply of plates and cups was not really adequate for our party of five but we managed. There were not enough glasses so we asked for more - and these were fairly quickly supplied.

Couldn’t fault the location - bang slap in the centre, just down the road from the beautiful Santa Croce - and one of the best ice cream shops ( gelateria alla carraia) has opened a little outpost a minute down the road. The apartment is a great size and the beds are comfortable. Florence is super expensive and this is a great value place. The host, Ximena, was brilliant, regularly checking everything was ok. Antonio, the owner, lives in the next door apartment and pops his head out every so often to say hello. ( and make sure you’ve turned the lights off 😂)

It’s right opposite a bar, and near a small nightclub, which are open into the small hours. If you’re a light sleeper, two of the three rooms aren’t for you as you’ll get woken by people leaving. The third bedroom is a floor above and has a different aspect so is fine! The plumbing is fairly ancient - not a gripe: it’s a sixth floor flat and thats just how water pressure works without the help of a noisy pump. But again, if a really good, high pressure shower is important to you, this isn’t your place.
