Staying in "Ancien hôtel aux moines Pierrefitte St Lo" was one of the best our experiences in France. There are cute dogs (Russels) and finally, there are elite horses, winners of tournaments. Not to mention you are staying in a house which is almost 1000 years old and has a rich history of being church and abbey. The hosts are wonderful people who love what they do and most important, they love people. We had a wonderful evening with talking and tasting local things. Sadly, we had only one day there.
Nothing to mention.

Sharing our stay with the horses, geese, chickens and adorable dogs was a highlight. The kind and friendly owners could not have been more accommodating

The owners are very friendly and strive to make guests comfortable. Close to Saint Lo and all its amenities. Definitely exceeded expectations.
Wi-Fi was a little spotty but this wasn’t a big deal for us.

Fabulous old building. Extremely welcoming hosts. Excellent parking. Rural area and very peaceful. Out of town but close enough for amenities that St Lo has to offer. Good location for access to the D Day Beaches and memorials etc. Would I return - absolutely!

Fantastic and interesting location. The proprietors were extremely friendly and accommodating and taught me about the property, part of which is a very old chapel. I cycled and it is in easy reach (approx 5KM) of the centre of St Lo.

Private comfortable accommodation in a country setting. We loved watching the chickens, the dogs came to say hello every morning and the horses were a bonus.

It is an amazing place. So much beauty and history. However, that was nothing compared to the hospitality. Will definitely be back. A great place for a quiet rest along the way.

Phillipe and Simone are a lovely friendly couple. They have restored this lovely old building which includes a chapel from around the 12th century. Thus was the only part of the building not to be destroyed in the bombing of WW2. They also keep horses and chickens.

This property has so much history and is very cozy. I would pay twice the price for it! In addition, as a solo female traveller I always felt safe and taken care of. Phillipe is a wonderful host and even took time out of his day to show me the Chapel that is on the property.

We were in a bit of a pickle ! we had a blowout in our motorhome and therefore had no transport: This room was booked at short notice and we were very tired and weary travellers: I cannot even begin to tell you of the hospitality of Phillipe and his wife. We had to walk as there were no taxi's available and when we explained our predicament to Phillipe he showed us to our room and once we had freshened up, greeted us with home made Cider from a neighbour (it was gorgeous) he then brought us to a Chinese restaurant where we could get a takeaway (also came in with us to ensure there was no communication issues) - brought us back to the house where he left us in peace to have our dinner. The TV was connected to Netflix so we could watch a movie.
The next morning he very kindly arranged for a car to come and get us to bring us to the garage where our Motorhome was being repaired.
There are not enough words to express our gratitude for such kindness and topped off by the most beautiful surroundings.
But I would recommend that you have a mode of transport :)
The Taxi situation in St Lo is utterly shocking !!! we had to walk 7.5 km to get to the Ancien (thankfully we picked the best place with an amazing host, who looked after us well)
Phillipe explained that they will be creating a kitchen as this is one of their downfalls, they don't serve food. It was only a minor inconvenience, given the day we had.

Quiet location, but 15 min cycle to St Lo. The apartment is large with beautiful furniture. Philippe is very friendly, and will show you around the chapel. The ornamental pool area is gorgeous to sit beside.
It has a strange entrance via the shower room, the dogs running around the property, often left deposits you had to be careful not to tread in.

We had the best sleeps of our lives here on this quaint little farm. So accommodating, comfortable, and safe. Close to town (4min drive). Cute horses, chickens, and dogs on site that make it even more enjoyable. Built in the 1200s - ask for a tour of the chapel - it’s beautiful! 10/10 would recommend.
