"I liked that there was a refrigerator and microwave inside of the room. Plus the room appeared to be renovated/updated. Air conditioning unit worked well."

Nice place to stay, HORRIBLE people running the hotel!!!
I enjoy being at Old World! I go many times per month, especially during the Oktoberfest season, and staying there is convenient.
One thing I don't like is they charge $100 as a holding fee, on top of the cost of the room. Now this may be somewhat of a standard practice, but I have stayed at many other places that do not charge a holding fee, it just annoying. The manager/owner, I'm not sure what her position is, does not speak any English, so communication is mostly non-existent. She has a guy that comes out from a back room to help with translation but becomes more hostile than helpful! At one point this guy threatens to punch me out! All this came about because I did bring a little dog with me, and "they" wanted to charge me additional $40, I protested due to a sign they clearly have posted at the front desk saying "Small pets $35+tax for staying 2 nights or more" I stayed only ONE night, not 2 or more!!! They yelled and argued with me to pay for the dog, I finally did just to get the hello out of there! The place is nice and pretty clean, but I will NOT be staying there anymore, unless there is new manager/owner!!

    Absolute failure
The ad claimed parking was available however there is mail parking available. The staff did not speak. English could not communicate.

    Decent room
Room was ok. German restaurant next door . Peets and Starbucks coffee pods and organic Kirkland milks in fridge with danish
Entry and walk to room was too dirty. Still waiting for deposit back! Language barrier, had to use Google translate to get it done.

We have stayed here before and it is adequate for our needs and the location we want to be in.
Room was clean and comfortable. We could not beat the location. Right where we needed to be.
Unfortunately this is a privately owned establishment. The communication was very hard as they did not speak clear English.

for those wishing to be surprised, this is a little slice of fun where you least expect it.
old world village is a taste of germany as it once was. the market is fabulous with international products, the restaurant (bierstube) and biergarten serve delicious german meals. the atmosphere very upbeat.

    way better than I expected
I don't think they had a breakfast but the fridge was stocked with 2 free milks and 2 free pastries, plus a couple free bottles of water. All of this was a nice surprise. Some of the reviews made it sound like this place would be dirty, noisy and nasty but it wasn't. I liked the large fridge, comfortable bed and the location couldn't be better for an event at the Biergarten.
I am not used to using electronic doors. I learned the hard way in the middle of the night that I have to press the bar at the bottom of the keypad first, then enter the code I was given to unlock the door afterhours. Not a huge inconvenience but a brief frustration.

It was quite, but the bed frame was made of metal and made noice, also the sink drained very slow
    steps away from Oktoberfest
The lady behind the counter did not speak English at all, it was very hard to understand her and communicate with her.

    Poor customer service
The room has been updated semi-recently and was clean when I arrived for my booking that extended from Thursday through Sunday.
The clerks do not speak English well. It seems like the hotel is run by a mother and her two daughters. Despite the language barrier, we were able to communicate with some effort. There was a sign on the table in the room citing COVID as a reason the room would not automatically be cleaned daily. To have the room cleaned, a request needed to be made. I requested daily cleaning and for the room to be made up and was told ‘no’ by the clerk. I even hung the door sign on the outside knob requesting maid service. On the last day I was there, the older woman stopped by my room about it and I requested maid service one last time and never received it. I know they understood my request but did not respond to it. I had to bring down my dirty towels and request fresh ones because one of the daughters refused to come get mine. She was too busy playing on her phone and gave me a disgusted look when I asked her about getting the towels. I even offered to put them outside the door. I had my hair done at the upstairs salon next door and was told by the the hotel is occupied primarily by Section 8 residents and they were surprised it functions as an actual hotel. They recommended I stay at the Hotel Huntington in the future. For the comparable price, I will. Poor service all around.
