Villa I Bossi

This has to be the most beautiful location to stay at. The estate itself is absolutely breathtaking, the grounds are stunning, the pools are beautiful, and the surrounding nature is truly fascinating—the magical atmosphere completely won us over. Additionally, even though there is no air conditioning, the stone house stays incredibly cool. We kept the shutters closed during the day, and since it gets quite chilly outside in the evening, sleeping with the window open was perfectly comfortable (and a fan is available just in case)

Having read the reviews beforehand, we knew what to expect, but there are areas that could use more attention. The room was a bit dusty, some fixtures showed signs of wear (like makeshift superglue repairs on the shower cabin), and the kitchen's electric stovetop didn't work very well. As coffee lovers, we would have also appreciated some good quality coffee to use with the provided Moka pot. Furthermore, the property is quite isolated with no on-site restaurant or basic amenities like a water dispenser, so you must plan ahead. For those without a rental car, the bus across the street runs strictly on time but ends early; the last bus from the city is at 19:00, after which you rely on taxis costing around €18–19.

Beautifully maintained, this 13th-century villa is set within truly stunning grounds and filled with thoughtful, characterful furnishings. Clarissa, Francesca, and their family were exceptionally warm and generous hosts, making the experience feel both personal and memorable. We were lucky enough to be given a tour of the home—an engaging and informative glimpse into its rich history. The pools and gardens were lovely - would be great to return in the summer.
