Perfect peaceful getaway

I loved having a breakfast on the balcony looking out over the valley and the sea. Felt immediately at home in this apartment. There's lots to do on the doorstep if you like hiking and nature, but it's also a great place to just relax and hang out. A few buses a day run between Castellar and Menton and there's a regular train service along the coast, so you don't need a car to get around. Alain and Bernard are very kind, generous hosts. I hope to stay again.

We did not feel that we got value for our money and left somewhat disappointed.

It has nice views, not bad location. It is located in a charming village above Menton. There is not much else to say, really. The stay was mostly not as hoped.

Cramped and not suitable for pets at all - the owners live in the adjacent apartment and share the terrace, with their territorial cat freely roaming around, frequently trying to get into the rental, so we had to have the glass door to the terrace closed at all times and couldn't really use it. The fact that they have a cat and also a dog that can access the terrace should have been mentioned in the listing or at least in a message after booking. We only booked it for the pet-friendliness and large terrace and this was a huge disappointment, Thin walls and not much privacy. The parking area is tiny and not suitable for anything but a small car.

Expectations exceeded

Everything was beyond expectations, a quiet place with private parking, perfect for couples. The host was very welcoming, he even waited for us and helped us with our luggage, and even left us beer and juice in the fridge. Less common, but the apartment looks even better than in the pictures, everything is clean, a lot of attention to details and nothing is missing. The terrace with sea view is perfect for having dinner or breakfast (I had seen in a review before we went, that someone complained that the sea was not very well visible, and I want to mention that it is perfectly visible, considering that the apartment is on the coast, 7 km from Menton). When we'll come back to the French Riviera, this will definitely be where we'll stay.

Exceptional

The apartment is fully equipped, very clean and very well located. The sight from the terrace is breathtaking. The atmosphere at Castellar, quiet. We had our own carpark. There is a good restaurant very close to the apartment (Lascaris) and a small shop (Grocery) where you can buy local products. The hosts were amazing. I recommend the location.

Fully equipped apartment with peace and great view

The house is very-very well equipped. Bernard was a great and helpful host. We had really everything (and even more) what is needed for a holiday. We enjoyed the peace, the fresh air and having breakfast and dinner on the terrace with the fantastic panorama. Castellar is also a lovely little village. I hope to come back next year!

Rien à reprocher, appartement très propre et très bien équipé avec une belle vue sur la mer, spacieux, équipements de grande qualité, place de parking privée (très utile dans ces lieux escarpés)... Balcon avec table, chaises .et chaises longues. Bref, Parfait ! Je reviendrai avec plaisir si besoin

Magnifique séjour dans l'arrière pays de Menton

La communication avec l'hôte (claire et complète), sa souplesse concernant le départ et l'arrivée. Le logement grand, confortable avec une belle vue dégagée. Le village de Castellar (typique et bon enfant avec bar resto l'Ormeau, camion à pizza) est une bonne base de départ pour des magnifiques randos dans l'arrière pays de Menton. Détail pratique le parking sur place.

Bah rien on a mis 10 ! enfin si, il semble y avoir pas mal de chien aux alentours et beaucoup d'aboiements qui résonnent entre les montagnes (constaté hors saison sans que ce soit gênant). Mais ceci est lié à l'environnement "campagne" - qu'on apprécie par ailleurs - et rien à voir avec le logement qui est parfait.

Excellent

Die Aussicht ist grandios. Die Wohnung hat alles was man braucht. Alles ist in einem tadellosen Zustand. Hier hat es uns an rein gar nichts gefehlt. Eine schöne dicke Katze hat uns jeden Tag begrüsst und ihre Stricheleinheiten abgeholt.

SUPERBE SEJOUR A CASTELLAR

Très bel appartement sur les hauteurs de Menton dans un petit village perché. Accueil agréable de l'hôte. Appartement très bien équipé et tout confort, frigo avec boissons diverses à disposition à mon arrivée, cafetière et capsules à disposition. Logement parfait pour une semaine à Menton.

Hübsches Appartement im malerischen Castellar. Ideal für Ausflüge nach Menton. Eigener Parkplatz, man kann zu Fuß in die Altstadt laufen. Alles war sehr sauber und komfortabel. Der Pizzawagen in der Nähe ist sehr zu empfehlen :)

Moderne Wohnung mit tollem Ausblick und engem Parkplatz

Tolle Lage in schönem Bergdorf. Sehr moderne Ausstattung.

Die Wohnung liegt zwei Stockwerke UNTER dem Parkplatz und ist nur über viele Stufen erreichbar. War für uns ok, sollte man aber bei der Buchung wissen. Jeden Morgen gab es Ameisen im Wohnraum. Der auf keinem Bild sichtbare Wandschrank im Schlafzimmer ist zur Hälfte mit Kleidung der Gastgeber belegt.

Sehr schön

Das Apartment ist rundum gut ausgestattet und entspricht vollständig der Beschreibung. Die Terrasse ist ideal für heiße Sommerabende. Für Ausflüge nach Menton bietet sich der Linienbus, der von der von der nahe gelegenen Bushaltestelle abfährt an. Im Ort befindet sich ein Bistro, dass leider um 18:00 Uhr schließt. Sehr zu empfehlen ist auch der fußläufig leicht zu erreichen. Pizza Truck mit hervorragenden Pizzen und freundlicher Bedienung. Der Kontakt mit dem freundlichen Vermieter ist problemlos. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Bergdorf - Idylle

Ein außergewöhnlicher Ort: Ein Appartement in einem Bergdorf 350m über der Cote d'azur. Die Anfahrt über eine kleine verschlungene Straße ist schon ein kleines Abenteuer. Das Auto parkt man auf einem privaten Stellplatz, der Gold wert ist, denn Parkplätze an der Straße sind knapp und sehr begehrt. Die Wohnung erreicht man über eine Außen- und eine Innentreppe, sie liegt am Hang. Die Einrichtung ist geschmackvoll aber auch sehr funktionell mit vielen technischen Gimmicks. Zum Hang gelegen ist die Terrasse der Wohnung mit Tisch und Stühlen und zwei Liegen und mit Blick auf die Berge und das Meer. Für Selbstversorger ist die Wohnung komplett ausgestattet. Im Bergdorf gibt es auch ein Bistro, ohne Karte, das Menü für den Tag steht auf der Schiefertafel. Ebenso findet man einen kleinen Laden im Dorf. Ab 8 Uhr gibt's dort die leckersten Croissants. Größere Einkäufe kann man im Gewerbegebiet unten im Tal erledigen. Für Ausflüge nach Menton empfiehlt es sich, den Bus zu nehmen, der tagsüber stündlich runter und rauf fährt. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und immer erreichbar. Wer abseits des Touristentrubels aber nicht fernab von allem die Ruhe genießen möchte, ist hier gut aufgehoben.
