Great communication from host but way too many issues

The location was perfect as it connects you with roads going north and south. I liked the layout upstairs, which meant the children could have their own rooms. The host was very easy to communicate with.

When we arrived after a long journey from London, found the house was not ready. Had to wait in the living room for the house to get restocked. We were told that the smart lock was going to be fixed the next day, so we were given keys. Annoyingly it was not done until the third day. Unfortunately, opening the door with the keys was incredibly difficult, meaning for two and a half days whilst I was busy, my family could not even leave the house on holiday because they could not lock the front door! There is mould on the roof of the kitchen The whole place had not been dusted, so it was full of cobwebs, and every room had a number of spiders. Some rooms as many as 6 or 7. The cold tap in the bathroom upstairs did not work. Unfortunately, the smell of smoke still lingers downstairs. On the last day there was not hot water, as we were going to leave, we did not bother getting it sorted. Every morning the first person to go to the kitchen would be met by 2 or 3 slugs crawling around the kitchen floor.

made our stay very uncomfortable, couldn’t wait to come home

it was filthy, stank of stale smoke which with no amount of air freshener or fabreeze could get rid of. stained mattress left in one bedroom, stain on bedding,sludge in shower, fan in bathroom thick with dust. oven, freezer, microwave and plates in cupboard were disgusting. Bath was very unstable, 3 bath towels for 5 people. No aerial for tv and internet very poor

The location was good, it was a decent price for 2 nights.

Unfortunately I didn't find the accommodation particularly clean the fridge had remnants of food crumbs on the bottom, the glasses in the cupboard werent cleaned thoroughly, one wine glass had left over cous cous in it! There was dust all over the skirting boards, my Son lost a toy under the sofa and when we went to retrieve it there was a ton of mess underneath it looked like it hadn't been hoovered in a long time. The outside patio was a dumping ground rubbish and cigarette butts everywhere. The 2nd day we were there, there was no hot water and the heating wasn't working due to issues with pressure. We notified the host but he wasn't able to get a maintenance man out until the afternoon and we were due at a funeral midday. My Husband ended up having to fix the issue. The lock on the front door was damaged so we were unable to secure the property properly, again we made the host aware. My Husband ended up doing his best for a temporary fix (he's a joiner) as we weren't comfortable leaving the house unsecured on our departure. There is issues in the bathroom, the bath appears to have sunken slightly in the floor and when stepping into it for a shower it rocks and separates from the tiles, which means water is leaking down the side of the wall which is evidenced by the damp patches on the kitchen ceiling. The house needs a lot of maintenance. The Host was polite and apologetic but unfortunately the property as a holiday rental fell short.

Location and proximity to point of interest. Kitchen was very good.

Very bad quality bedding causing me a back pain. Cooking pans were out of their life. Internet wasn't at its best- was dropping off very often.

The size of the property and the facilities were perfect for our needs. The hosts were very fast at responding to any messages and the house was presentable throughout.

We couldn't assemble the provided travel cot - we're fairly sure it's broken. The upstairs didn't seem to heat up so the nights were a little uncomfortable, especially for the children, although we appreciate it's an older property.

A great stay at Pomfret House

The house was clean & the owner was easy to contact. Gaining entry to the house was easy, we could park the car right outside the property. There where lots of bits left in cupboards which is helpful, my family & I enjoyed our stay & really can not say anything bad about it & we would definitely stay again.

I didn't read anywhere there wasn't an iron, I would of taken my own, but I contacted the owner with this question of was there an Iron? & he replied quickly that no there wasn't & explained it was for health & safety reasons.

Smartly refurbished, well-equipped house. Great value for money for a weekend. Communication from the owners was excellent before and during the stay.

The stairs are very steep and narrow, and would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The area seemed pretty run-down.

The host was amazing. He went far and beyond to meet any of the requests and was checking with me regularly to make sure I was comfortable and satisfied with my stay. Communication with host was excellent and all the facilities were clean and well taken care of.

It would be helpful to receive property access information and keys much earlier than on the hour of arrival. It was a big challenge for us when we arrived and had to rely on the taxi driver's cellphone to contact host because ours was not connecting. Location was very good for our need.

Host was excellent, gave great instructions and made it very easy to follow. The area was quiet and off the main roads and had close access to any manner of ameneties. Even on exit the host was very communicative and we would definitely stay there again.

Had a great time here, felt like home. The location was great,with good places to eat. Host was very helpful. Beautiful parks, close by. Singing Ringing tree was just 9 minutes away in car. Worth visiting,breath taking views.
