Thank you for this wonderful time I had in YH Brest

this gem is perfectly located 45 min by bus from town center but very well connected; ideal for culture-lovers, for nature lovers, it is an architectural highlight (built 1983 but referring to modernism, quite elaboratedly) - wonderful garden, accomodation in single beds very simple but gorgeous, beautiful & special YH, very nice staff very basic but good breakfast, if you order it - it´s below 7 Euros. And you can use the communal kitchen (no real storing space though- but in good weather situations you may eat outside on wooden tables amid palm trees and unique plants!

the facility is an old gem and very special, I loved it besides the fact that one could hardly air out the rooms, ventilators in showers did not work, but I consider it´s worth it if you are interested in modernist architecture embedded in nature, it is a fair and community-engaging accomodation away from standard comfort with the luxury on far over standard atmosphere - you are rewarded by the most magnificent garden and off-loation close to the Brest Botanical garden, a little harbour and the maritime harbour area. No WIFI in rooms but in public area - there is a communal lobby and living room, which is huge and inviting, with table tennis, open fireplace etc. It was a bit loud bit fantastic - it´s a youth hostel par excellence

The location just few steps to the beach and harbor with many sport activities and jogging opportunities. Also several restaurants very close.

A "Detention Center" for framed groups

The outdoor yard looks good but small with not much view of it from my room; Very warm shower, pillow very comfortable but not the plastic mattress, in room double sink. Well equiped lobby room : books & fireplace, mini-soccer & pool table 1€,..., functional kitchen with everything needed.

The reception : A cold registration just as it would be in jail, then advised of the night door, then in a flash lead me to the room quickly pointing the shared rooms (lobby, kitchen, tv room, shower/toilets). Finally drop me in the quad room with the bed set a put myself on the plastic mattress. The bedroom : no USB ports, bearly 2 sockets, no curtain and a mounted bed light you cannot move. The indoor (shared rooms, corridors , dorms) : totally deprived of anything visually nice and remain only functional.

It's situated close to bus station and boulangerie (5 minutes walk), it has nice garden, big hall with different games, there is a table in the room and a big wardrobe

Unfortunately, the shower and toilets weren't clean, it seems that it's difficult to keep up with visitors with kids, it was also a bit unusual to have plastic bed covers

the purpose for me was just to spend the night, but regarding the price i paid and service I got

playing pingpong there

they charged for additional 3€ to get a subscription card or I can not spend the night I reserved for 25 ... and I finished paying 33€ with a bad breakfast service

Superb

Wonderful architecture of the hotel. The public area filled up with light is really stunning. Huge windows, fireplace, piano, all that custom furniture and high quality materials covering the surfaces create very special atmosphere. Smartly planned shower area, that gives enough privacy and a lot of room to put or hang your bathing stuff. Lovely bedside light.

It is rather odd that you have to pay additionally for the "membership card", it seems to be a completely pointless issue. The toilets without washbasins: to wash your hands you must leave the bathroom, cross the corridor and get to your dorm. It is very uncomfortable. No power outlets near the beds. No soap near the washbasins.

They lacked the basic necessities that even the smallest hostels normally provide.

Excellent garden and cool architecture style of the building.

No soap, no towels. The paid "breakfast" was sugary cereal, packs of apple sauce, and slices of stale bread.

Very good place, but not very clean

The hostel is amazing, it's really big with a lot of common areas and they are great. There's a free drinkable water source and a paying coffee machine, wich makes it pratical. It's quite close to the Oceanopolis.

To access the entry you have to go through a weird street and badly illuminated. The shared bathrooms were really dirty and smelly. There was no wifi in the rooms and no plugs for the higher beds, only the ground ones. The beds were not very comfortable.

Not in city center, but worth it. Location is calm, facilities are great, and the kitchen is useful.

Really nice place, has a kitchen with refrigerator+kitchen stovetop, perfect from bringing back food and making yours. Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Bunk bed were good for a hostel.

Séjour très agréable pour 2 nuits

Même complet, le bâtiment est suffisamment spacieux pour avoir l'impression qu'il ne l'est pas et nous offrir des moments de calme. L'auberge est chouette, avec des extérieurs, des espaces divers à l'intérieur : coin café, fontaine à eau, grande pièce de vie, cuisine collective... Proche de cafés, restau, plage, port, jardin botanique, sentier côtier. Il faut compter une petite heure à pied pour rejoindre le centre de Brest ou prendre la ligne bleue qui vous y emmènera rapidement.

Les douches ouvertes sont propres contrairement à celles qui comportent des portes en plastiques. Il manque une prise dans les chambres de 4.

El hecho de que la habitación tuviera una antesala espaciosa con lavabo y armario , evitaba molestias a quien quedaba en ella durmiendo.

Que bajo el colchón, al hacer la cama, vi que había algún papel de algún huésped anterior. Podría ser más barato al compartir habitación. 25 sería un buen precio.

Lage nah am Meer. Schöner, parkähnlicher Garten. Architektur.

Hygienischer Zustand von Waschbecken, Toiletten & Duschen. Duschen mit starkem Schimmel und Ablagerungen. Beißender Uringeruch in den Toilietten bis auf die Flure vor den Zimmern. Insgesamt muffiger Geruch im Gebäudeinneren und auch des Bettzeugs. Generell renovierungsbedürftig und schlecht gereinigt. Stark verfärbtes und unsauberes Geschirr beim Frühstück. Keine Tassen, keine Teller. Sehr dünner Kaffee und wässriger Saft. Sehr karges Frühstück, den Preis (6,90€/Person) nicht wert. Fotos des Frühstücks auf der Internetseite der Jugendherberge völlig abweichend von der Realität. Fotos der Zimmer optisch geschönt, d.h. aufgehellt. Schlafräume eher dunkel und schlecht zu lüften. Nur ein kleiner Fensterflügel zum Kippen. Öffnen gesperrt. Muffig. WiFi reicht nicht bis in die Zimmer.

L'auberge, son architecture dans son parc fleuri, les expos, les espaces de jeux méritent la viste

nous avons (fait rare mais agréable) profité d'une chambre à 2 lits à l'étage, silencieux

la propreté de la cuisine mériterait d'être mieux respectée par les utilisateurs, ainsi que la surveillance d'enfants (par leurs parents....)
