The location was good and the view out from the front of the house was beautiful.
Unfortunately, my stay was not what I expected. There were several issues that made the experience uncomfortable and frustrating. The address for the property was unclear, it was not in the listing or instructions but after a little sleuthing on Google maps, we found it. There were also no instructions for where to park. The initial impression was of the beautiful view & the idea of staying in the Old School House but upon entering the house, we were affronted with a VERY strong musty/moldy smell and the experience went downhill from there.
The front door would not lock properly, which left us feeling unsafe, and the back of the house was cluttered with an abandoned car and two run down large storage units with weeds grownup around it all. On top of that, an alarm kept going off throughout the night (6 times). We messaged the house the first time it went off but she never responded.
Additionally, a man from next door sat in his car and honked his van horn at 5:58am, making it impossible to rest. I could also hear the downstairs residents talking and slamming doors late into the night. The beds were "okay" but the bedding was all old and did not give us confidence that they were clean. The bathroom had a guest basket, but it included USED items like open soap, razors, and shaving cream, which felt unhygienic.
There was a strong musty, mold-like odor throughout the unit, which made it feel like it hadn’t been properly cleaned—certainly not freshly mopped or sanitized, despite what the host claims in other reviews. The space was described as fully renovated, but in reality, it was not renovated at all—just outdated and worn down. The so-called “living room” wasn’t comfortable at all with minimal furniture and no place to truly relax. Plus, the moldy/musty smell was intolerable in that room.
Overall, I would not recommend this property unless major improvements are made in cleanliness, communication, maintenance, and overall guest...

The view of the mountains from the porch. Good WiFi and welcome snacks provided.
House had a musty smell almost mold like. Mold in shower. Neighbor stood outside our window staring at us with a chainsaw at 0730. Seemed like was trying to intimidate us to leave. Heat in one room was stuck on and could not be turned off. Too much road noise to get a good night sleep. TV also did not work.

Nice features old fire place in front room but one in kitchen is filled with plastic bags . Cooker intermittent can’t use grill park as smelt so bad . Nice little touches milk pot and tea pot floor very slippery don’t let children walk about in socks only . Tralee town nice the mall pub is amazing it’s small door into an amazing pub carvery , shean org pub brilliant . The balleyroe hotel up the road from the house is fantastic food amazing and very good value for money lovely people in Hotel . Sorry but would not stay again but Kerry is stunning

Couldn't get in and properly owners phone turned off for 2 days.
Nothing, didn't even get in. Registration came back as approved but there was nobody there. Called owner multiple times but was getting only voicemail. The next day was accused of not calling and tried to call again and again voicemail. The pictures on booking.com do not represent the real property. When we were outside banging on the doors and trying to reach the owner, notice that outside the house is run down and front terasse is a huge mess. Never really got into the house. Spent 1.5 hours woth a 6 mont old and 2 kids stressing in the car until decided to find something else. Definitely not recommending this property for a holiday rent. Stear clear.

The house was a in a nice location, with fab views. Bedrooms were very spacious & each had towels available for guests.
Bathroom could do with some updating. Also found there was a lot of nick nacs & little ornaments around the house which could be removed & this would eliminate the fear of breakages, especially if kids staying over. Parking was limited, we had two cars but that is all that would fit.

The house was nice and cute. About 15 mins away from town.
The kitchen was small. Same with the living room. Heater was not working on the 1st nite we were there. But the host did come over next day to on the timer. The master bedroom was reasonable size.

Lovely old quaint home, decorated in keeping with the style of house. Just the right size for all of us. Comfortable beds and we all slept well.
The garden area not great for young children but was safe. Could do with another bathroom or at least downstairs toilet!

Great location close to the Dingle Peninsula and Killarney, lovely clean house with everything we need, very handy way to check in by collecting the keys from a lock box, no time pressure to get checked in.

We really enjoyed staying at St Martin's Old Schoolhouse as it is in the perfect location close to beautiful beaches and close to Tralee and the Dingle Peninsula. We used our stay to visit beaches and parks in the local area. Definitely well worth a visit and Catherine our host was extremely helpful.

Location for our visit would have been good.
Arrived after Christmas and the house felt damp, no heating on and very cold. ( An old building as per description but for example single glazed and not thermally efficient)
Host sent useful video to switch heating on but after an hour with a log burner lit it made little difference to the temperature.
Smelt fusty and damp and locked up as if uninhabitable for weeks .
We did not stay here as this property was unsuitable for our needs.

Brilliant cooker, oven and the house is clean and tidy with a good shower.
Someone using a very noisy petrol strimmer at 7:30 on a Sunday Morning knowing there were guest's in the house. No downstairs toilet, hard with a toddler. Light very dull in the kitchen for cooking.
