Coach Field Camp

The proprietors, Audrey and Duncan, are the best! My wife and I were hiking the Kerry Way (Tralee to Dingle) in early July, and this was our first stop. We needed help with dinner plans, and they were all too willing to assist. And then we both noticed our hiking boots were coming apart, and Duncan helped us make needed repairs. We saw them also helping other glampers—families with children—to ensure the kids had games to play. Audrey and Duncan are great hosts and make all the difference.

It’s glamping, not a B&B, so you can’t expect the same level of facilities. But we enjoyed our stay!

We were happy to arrive after a long day of hiking. Bathrooms and showers were clean and we never had to wait. The beds were comfortable and the staff were so friendly and available.

There was a hill to walk up after our long hike day as an added challenge hahahahh

The camping was great, small enough in size that we didn’t need to worry about kids wondering off but with enough outside space to play. The woman who welcomed us was the absolute best, so generous and helpful! She gave ice creams to the kids and helped with all we needed. Marshmallows were made in the evening, which was amazing for the kids. Nice communal spaces. Great relaxing place!

I may not be too accustomed to camping standards so this is a slight side consideration rather than a negative point: the toilets could have been a bit more spacious (especially when taking a shower) and were full of mosquitos/flies. Perhaps inevitable…

The location was very convenient for the Dingle / Kerry Way which we were hiking. Jack was very helpful. There's a fabulous place to eat near by for breakfast called the Filling Station and the local pub in Camp Lower did excellent food. We even got a lift home by the owner.

Could have had more facilities for hikers e.g. places to hang wet clothes. Glamping pods are small especially for adults. Probably great for kids and families if the weather is good but the pods could benefit from a larger covered area out front for bad weather and maybe a box outside to keep muddy / wet shoes.
