Okay for night of wanting to be close to ferry port

Filthy false advertised property

There was nothing to like as I never spent one night in the property as the property was not as advertised. I am in the process of seeking compensation. The place had the smell of a more the beds were filthy.

I did not like anything. I was appalled by the attitude of the host when I explained my disabled son could not use the toilet as it was a foot off the ground. I also never stay an hour in there as from entry it was a disappointment. Dirty filthy fridge, stove, bed , linen. The entire place had a foul smell. There was missing glass panes in the door from the living room to kitchen. Not to mention cracked glass. The place was unsafe

Major cleanliness issues

Large apartment. Good decoration. Host responsive.

Apartment has not been cleaned. Excrement on walls of toilet. No toilet paper. Half drunk bottles in fridge. Gist told us there were sheets for sofa bed (booked) mine so we had to get the children to use sleeping bags which was unacceptable for price.

Without that smell I would have been totally satisfied.

The property was easy to access, the host was very responsive and helpful, the flat was in well furnished.

Unfortunately the smell in the hall and in the flat was really bad, it was so stinky that we couldn’t get rid of it even if all windows were open for hours. Also there were just 2 towels ( I payed for 4 people) and they were totally wet.

Our hosts woke us up at 2am screaming at each other for over an hour so aggressively that we wanted to call the police. The place is in a very horrible area and our car was also almost broken into in the morning.

Convenient location for ferry terminal. Good for short stay.

Lovely ground floor flat, spacious. Easy on street parking. Owner very accommodating, dropping round a cot etc.

Toilet was very high off the ground. Had to supply own bin bags, washing up liquid and toilet paper, lucky we stayed on the way back from a camping holiday so this wasn’t a problem for us.

Would benefit from painting or replacing the front door. Once inside it was lovely but my wife wasn't keen to enter! Strange wc rather high on the wall.

Lovely spacious flat

Location great for stop in Calais and parking when we were there (mid-late July) was easy on same street. The flat is very nicely decorated and there is a private outdoor space. The flat had plenty of room. Lovely

The toliet was hung very high and could have been helped with a taller set of foot steps to help use it. This would not stop me from visiting again as we liked the flat a lot.

Could be great with better attention to detail!

This is a very cute ground floor apartment. Quirky style, spacious, outside space, access was easy, on street parking was close, receptive owner when we needed something.

Unfortunately however, when we arrived there was a lingering smell of cat pee, and exposed electrical cables to the hall light switch. We were also surprised that the windows to the street only had thin net curtains for privacy, one of which was coming down. These were inadequate if you put any lights on at all. We then realised quite late that there was no toilet paper so contacted the owner who replied first thing the next day and brought some - half a roll. You couldn’t fully open the bedroom window due to the curtain pole obstructing it. Fortunately it was not a hot evening. Generally the facilities were clean with a few exceptions - cutlery, and cups, and the glass light fittings over the dining table needed a good damp cloth on them. Sadly this apartment was let down by a lack of attention to detail.

Many things not practical and not comfortable- exceptionally high toilet seat difficult for kids to reach, sofa bed was uncomfortable, small bed was uncomfortable, dining chairs already worn out, floor had rough edges which was uncomfortable for kids

Avoid! Misleading and false advertising of facilities ruined our plan

Dislikes overweigh the likes. We did not enjoy our stay here.

- The property is not beachfront. It is falsely advertised as "Beachfront". - In the facilities again, "Beach" and "Beachfront" is mentioned. - There were no instructions for WiFi and extra bed. - The house is very old and not maintained, has broken door knobs, hinges, switches. Toilet doors do not have door bolts and cannot be locked/closed from inside. Bathing shower area does not has privacy. - The property is not as advertised. It is false advertising and misleading. We did not like the false 'Beachfront' advertising. Misleading advertising by listing false facilities and strangely Booking.com is supporting false listing of facilities. They have not taken any action for our ruined plan and messaged me to put the review for others. We felt cheated. Waste of money and our plan was ruined by dishonest listing of facilities.

Cute on the photos, awful in person.

Nothing much to like about the property apart from good communication with the owner. Apartment itself is old, not clean with dirty dishes in the kitchen, dirty sheet and mattress disappointing quality. Toilet seat is so high that an adult is sitting with legs hanging. Shower head full of scale and dirt with water going all directions. Smell in the property is old and stale… Floors dirty, towels smelly, no coffee. Overall, very very poor and not acceptable.

A good but basic apartment in central Calais

Parking was free and easy to find on the street in front of the apartment. Good location for walking to central Calais and restaurants. The apartment was nicely decorated and a good size, but unfortunately not as comfortable as it looks. The shower was good but the toiletries that were meant to be provided weren’t there, and there was no noise from the street but there was occasional noise from people upstairs moving around.

The bathroom was an unusual layout, with the toilet separated from the rest of the flat by a door but the door didn’t fully close and had no lock, also as another reviewer wrote, the toilet itself was strangely high - I’m 1.7m tall and my feet didn’t touch the floor. The sofa looked nice but was very uncomfortable to sit on. The fridge in the kitchen was quite loud when you’re sitting at the table in there, and it would be nice to have a tea towel and hand towels as only bath towels were provided. It would also be helpful to have the Wi-Fi code in the apartment rather than needing to ask for it.

A good place for a stopover

Lovely location, free parking and generous roomsize, the shower was especially good, for longer stays there is a private courtyard, very central and friendly host

The toilet was very high up (even for tall people of 2m and 1,83m respectively), the older properties in town seem to have an issue with the drains so we had to leave a window open to air the room

The apartment was great, very spacious and clean and had everything I needed. The lighting was great and it was very quiet. A great location and modern facilities. The host was very pleasant as well, great communication.

I think the hot water was on a storage tank, my shower turned cold so it was a surprise! A little notice would have been nice but did not bother me too much. The outside patio would have done with a deep clean as well but I was only there for one night.

Objekt nije čist, smrdi kanalizacija. Nema osnovne stvari kao što je detergent za suđe, vadičep za vino, šalice za kavu, suđe nije čisto a nema se čime oprati, nema grijača za vodu, prljava je terasa i ne može se vani sjediti. Sve bi to u opisu apartmana trebalo biti.

De accomodatie is compleet ingericht

We hadden geboekt voor 5 personen, er waren bedden (bank) voor 4 pers. Na een tijdje zoeken was er een opklapbed in de keuken. Maar geen beddengoed. De host gevraagd, maat de communicatie was niet heel duidelijk. Uiteindelijk hebben we op de gang een kast gevonden waar wel een onderlaken en kussensloop in lag.

Le logement n’était pas propre, il a fallu relaver la vaisselle. Les vitres de la porte du salon sont cassées, la tringles de rideau pas fixée qui nous tombe dessus quand on les ferme. Les finitions de l’appartement et la terrasse pas propre
