Such a gorgeous little cottage! The pictures don’t do it justice. The place feels so homely and towels bedding etc are such good quality! We had such a comfortable stay! The location was absolutely perfect! Right around the corner of the town with loads of choices for food and drinks!

A lovely house in a great location. We’d definitely come back again.

Nice clean property with everything we needed for our stay. It was in a good location and the car park across the road was located so close and was very cheap.

The flat was cold on our arrival. It would have been good for the heating to be on given how cold it was. We did eventually get it working though. The courtyard was very dark and the light outside wasn’t working, so it was difficult to see our way in.

Dark courtyard as outside light wasn’t working . Heating wasn’t on when we arrived and it was a cold wet evening. House warned up once we put it in.

Location was excellent. 10 minutes walk to the town centre facilities and to Bowes Museum. Despite the central location it was quiet...a reflection of Barnard Castle perhaps. Was neat and tidy. Gemma, our host, was very responsive to a request for additional towels...there were too few when we arrived. The neighbour was delightful.

The blind over the window in the upstairs bedroom was broken and did not retract...not a huge inconvenience. I found the beds in the upstairs room a little saggy for me.

Fabulous cottage suited to a young family!

Location ideal. Renovations very clever, great use of space. Love the fabrics and wallpapers.

To old for a double bed against the wall. Little bit sensitive to all the taxidermy. Would have loved a teapot and a coffee plunger. We had been hanging out for a washing machine, but I can’t imagine where you could put it!!!

Everything. Comfy beds, Cosy cottage. Little extras like toiletries, coffee pods and machine. A home from home.

Nothing. We didn't spend much time at the Maltings Cottage as we were at a wedding, but we could happily have stayed longer if we didn't need to get home for work.

Everything, we live in a cottage, so it was definitely home from home for us. Very quirky, absolutely wonderful and so homely and comfortable. The history of the cottage was very interesting

Cosy and central.

Fantastic position close to town. Nice style. Comfortable. Nice little touches.

The shower is not in a great position and you lose all hot water if you have a bath. Neighbours property having work done on it so LOTS of drilling noises on a Saturday all day till about 5pm.

Nice cottage in good location but not child friendly.

The cottage was well furnished and it looked like someone had taken a lot of care choosing nice decor and ornaments. If you like tv on holiday there was a flat screen tv in every room. The cottage was very close to shops and amenities in Barnard Castle and also the Bowes Museum. Kitchen was well equipped.

I didn't think the property was family friendly. The bedroom you would use for a child was on the 3rd floor and had an approximately 11 foot straight drop from the balustrade. Ended up sleeping in the living room as the bed and sofa bed in this room was too uncomfortable for my husband and I.

This was a short visit to meet up with friends post covid and I would return

Good location for where we wanted to be. Within walking distance of most places. The place was clean and lots of little things to be welcoming and dog really enjoyed the jar of treats. Although we didn’t use things there was plenty coffee pods, teabags and other stuff which is not always the case in holiday properties

Had not realised it was on 3 levels and I should have checked first but we really needed a disabled parking place and a walk in shower.

The cottage was excellent value very clean with a great location. We would definitely book again if we revisit Barnard Castle. Gea the host was perfect when answering any questions we asked and the instructions where the cottage was located etc were excellent.

Gorgeous comfortable cottage in a great location centre of town

We loved the quirkiness of the cottage and it was a great location. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. There was a handy car park opposite which cost £1.50 per day. would definitely stay again.

If we were staying longer maybe a microwave would be handy.
