The Sea House Velipoje

The best thing about this house is, of course, its location. It is situated 10m from the sandy beach, and in season it enjoys direct access to a bar and equipped beach. The house is big enough to accommodate a family with two kids. The owner is super nice, although it is good to know Italian, as it will be difficult to communicate with him in English. He was very kind and accommodating and catered to our every request. The property has also a shaded carport to park you car out of the sun. In the season, there should be some shops and restaurants open very close to the house, but as we arrived in October, everything was already shut down for the season. There is a big, fenced garden at the property and a swing set for the children.

The good location by the beach makes this house also very remote out of season. To get to a nearest shop one needs to drive 10 minutes. All the restaurants around are closed and only a handful is available around Velipolje. The equipment in the house is rather limited in the aspect of cooking utensils. Only one big pot and pan, couple of glasses and small tea cups. Storage is very limited and the apartment really lacks of surface for food preparation. There is still plenty of room next to the hob so I hope the owner will invest in the expansion of the kitchen in the near future (dishwasher would certainly be a great addition to the kitchen). Mind that the second bed must be assembled from the modular sofa, but that is not a big issue. The aforementioned issues are most likely greatly diminished in the season, when food is plenty around and not much cooking is required to survive ;) There was also a problem of stray dogs who very often trespassed into the property looking for the food and while there were not really aggressive, my children were very scared of them. The owner should erect a higher fence on the already available low wall between the house and the property of the neighbours. This should stop the dogs from entering the property more effectively.

De gedeelde tuin, de zwerfhonden en het vele zwerfvuil wat overal ligt en toch het plezier drukt

Nagyon kedves vendéglátó, rendezett, tiszta környezet, kényelmes szállás. A tenger pár lépésre, gyönyörű homokos tengerpart. Nagyon sok étterem a közelben finom falatokkal. Kikapcsolódásra tökéletes, legközelebb is szívesen megyünk.

Noone there at the arranged time of arrival. Keys were in the door but no note or instructions to go in. With no wifi we didnt get the message telling us to go in and giving us the wifi password! After 2 hours the people in the neighbouring property came and gave us their wifi code. No welcome pack or any information at all. Fridge and air con off when we arrived so property boiling. Air con adequate in Sept but probably not in height of season. We did not meet our host at all, in our 3 day stay! Only his nephew who came to collect payment. We were there 25, 26 & 27 September and the whole beach area was closed! No bars or restaurants open, no sunbeds, no parasols. We needed 10min car journey to find a supermarket, restaurant or ATM Worst of all the area is FILTHY with overflowing dumpsters & lots of flytipping. I was afraid to go barefoot on the beach or in the sea because of refuse.
