About this house rental
Unwind in a tranquil, relaxed area of the island. Marvel at the stars at night and soak up the sun on a stunning, expansive beach by day! Enjoy a beautiful sunset view of the sound from the spacious back deck. Chat with family and friends on the large side deck with a view of iconic Topsail Beach Water Tower.
The house is approximately a block and a half from the beach access, and about the same distance from the sound. There is a kayak loading area for the sound about a half-mile down the street.
Sound's Great is a charming, recently renovated, well-appointed home with an easy, under 2-minute stroll to one of the most convenient public accesses on spectacular Topsail Beach.
It’s an ideal spot for biking , kayaking, grilling burgers or seafood, or just relaxing with your favorite beverage on a spacious deck. The house is actually 2 separate dwellings, with a total of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and two living areas. (Each level has 2 bedrooms, one bath, and a living area.)
The kitchen and laundry room are located on the second floor, while the first floor features a convenient mini-kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker, and microwave. Note: Access to the first floor is via outdoor steps, requiring entry from outside the house.
The house is located in Topsail Beach (on the island's south end), a historic and charming town with a missile museum, a 1950s-era putt-putt course, fine dining and an outdoor tiki bar at the Beach Shop, coffee and books at the White Crab, and high-quality gifts at The Gift Basket. You can also catch live music some evenings at Larry’s Deli-Q, Beach Shop, or the local municipal park.
Surf City, with an endless selection of restaurants and fun-filled activities, is only a 10-minute drive away.

We had a great week here. Excellent location and the house was really well-appointed. Brenda responded quickly to every question prior to our stay and checked in to make sure all was well. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely perfect beach getaway! The house had everything we could possibly need for the beach—chairs, umbrellas, toys, even a wagon to haul it all. The walk to the beach was super easy, just a few minutes and we were on the sand. The home was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. The owner was fantastic to work with—very easy to communicate with and incredibly accommodating when we needed to change our vacation week. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Loved everything. Location was great. The inside was immaculate. Lots of extras. Provided above and beyond any other vbro host. However, The outside deck needs a good stain (kids got splinters) and the backyard needed to be mowed. Other than that wonderful stay. We will stay here again! Great vacation.

Overall the location was good, a short walk to public beach access. The host was very accommodating, with extra supplies and snacks provided in the home. They were very responsive when we contacted them about an issue in the downstairs. The upstairs was very nice and maintained. The downstairs left some things to be desired.
