Regal Guest House

Gazda primitoare si amabila. Am avut ocazia sa alegem din cele 2 camere disponibile, desii erau aproape identice. Foarte aproape de Muzeul satului.

Camera nu avea AC. Nu era plasa anti-insecte la geam/tersasa. Scurgerea dusului era defecta si se se acumula apa. Patul extrem de inconfortabil.

Friendly owner that let me check in at 12:30, pm and a half hour prior to the official check in time. You had the impression of beinf welcomed in someone else's house. The exterior and lobby look exactly as in the official pictures.

My room was in the ground floor: no ait con and no ability to open windows. Also it WAS super basic in its equipment: not even a chair was present. The property is in a village 3km far from Sighetul Marmatiei: there is nothing to do there and you will have to use your car no matter what, because there is nothing to do there outside sleeping.

The host was very responsive with directions, and recommendations on where to eat, followed suggestions with success. Was a last minute value find when realized where would stop. Hosts weee present and nice, and greeted us, and accommodating.

We maybe did not understand guest house concept, rooms are separate and you share common area with other guests, and perhaps family, so not suitable if news multiple beds (more than 1 adult and 2 kids). One bathroom was very fine, the other small with repai needed on shower floor.

The host is a very nice person, easy to treat with. His willingness to accommodate his guests in the best way possible is exceptional. I really think he deserves his lodging business to succeed, for the effort and sacrifices he's done to make it possible. We liked the rooms because they ware spacious and clean, with comfortable king size beds. It was just one night stop for us, a family of four, so it was more than enough for our needs.

On the other hand, there are some things you need to be aware of. The host has TWO locations, and he decided to send us to a secondary place, 1KM further on the road, where a big luxurious villa is in construction. So, my commentaries are on that secondary place, not on the lodging featured on Booking in photos. The rooms that I supposedly booked were occupied by other people. But in the end, it wasn't a big inconvenience. Although the rooms were furnished and nice, the outside of the building and some interior features like the stair rails were not done. Beware of accidents if small kids are involved. Also, there was no kitchen implemented yet, so, if you plan to eat inside, wash dishes or clothes, you need to have your own stuff. A fridge and a table with chairs was provided in the main sitting room. It's all a temporary problem, though. In the bathroom the sinks are a bit on the narrow side and splash a lot if you're not careful. There are no hooks or shelves to put cloths or bathroom implements, hang a towel or rest a soap in the shower. I hope in time all these inconveniences will be solved and later guests will find this place a royal palace.
