Just a short drive from Mountain Village, nestled amongst the aspen trees in a local community called The Ski Ranches, you'll find Strong Elk on Quakey Lane. With panoramic mountain views of the infamous Mt. Wilson, which many guests will recognize from Coors Brewing Company, you'll gain such a sense of serenity as you approach. This single-family home has abundant space for your group, incredible wood accents throughout, and breathtaking views.
Enter through the two-car garage, store your gear, and walk into a wonderful living space with vaulted ceilings, spectacular mountain views, and tons of natural light. You'll find a deck with outdoor furniture on that main living level, a well-equipped kitchen with a lovely farmhouse sink and stainless steel appliances, as well as a gas fireplace and overstuffed, comfortable furnishings. There's plenty of space for the entire group, so you wouldn't expect to need to go downstairs, but when you do you'll find a spacious second living area with a large TV, a full bathroom, laundry facilities, and two more bedrooms. With such a thoughtful layout and such amazing views, this must be the place.
The Latitude 38 by Vacasa Clubhouse is a private hangout for our guests. Expect unmatched service at a convenient location, ski lockers, concierge services, a cozy lounge, free WiFi, coffee, and snacks!
THINGS TO KNOW
As part of your stay with Vacasa, you will have access to the clubhouse. This facility is located in the heart of Mountain Village and is complete with ski lockers (limited availability & by request), on-site concierge services, free Wi-Fi, and coffee.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle.
Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

We enjoyed our stay here! The house had some quirks but the hot tub and space made up for that. It was eight of us here for a ski trip at Telluride and it worked great for us. Thank you!

A huge, well-appointed house located in a rural area just outside of Mountain Village. Terrific views of Mt. Wilson through an aspen grove. With two master suites, two families can comfortably share this 5 bedroom house.

There were a few issues with this rental:
1. Check-in was at 4:00 pm. The home was not ready. We were asked to come back at 5:00 pm. When we arrived there was a car in the drive. My husband went in to check into the situation. He indicated that the house was still a mess. I am not sure if the previous group were very messy or if there was not adequate housekeeping staff. My daughter-in-law did find food wrappings behind the sofa after we arrived.
2. The dishwasher pump was not working . We found stagnant, smelly water in the bottom of the unit.
3. The WiFi was not working. Cell reception is very poor at the house. We have an elderly parent and needed to be able to communicate with caregivers during our stay; frustrating. The problem with the WiFi was noted on the check-in list. There was a simple handwritten note "WiFi not working, trying to fix". There was no other explanation nor were we made aware before arrival.
4. The bedding is worn. All of the pillows were very flat, sheets and coverlets are worn.
On Monday I called about the WiFi and dishwasher. I left a message. My call was not returned. I called again on Tuesday morning and spoke to a Vasca rep. The person that I spoke to did not seem to be aware of the WiFi problem. By Tuesday afternoon someone was at the house. Unfortunately, the young man could not get cell service either (work phone or personal phone)so he could not get the house details pulled up for router locations. Another technical arrived to address the dishwasher. The pump was changed out. After several hours the first guy finally located another router. Once he reset it we had WiFi. We certainly appreciated his diligence!
It seemed that perhaps the management company was new to this property. Hopefully, moving forward things will improve. There were several other issues at the property that did not affect our stay but were discovered - leaking boiler, broken faucet handle in one of the baths.
