Comfortable hotel in a good location

Beautiful hotel, with a good smell in the hall (the restroom smell cigarette). Very Dutch in terms of architecture. The noise from the busy street below is not very audible (but may disturb you if you are a light sleeper or very sensitive). A goods lift is available for your luggage and there is a coffee/tea area; ask at reception for it. And the location is perfect, I recommend it.

The smell of cannabis in the bathroom, a lack of choice of amenities in the rooms offered.

Fab place, excellent value.

Great location on the vibrant Witte de Withstraat. Love the jade and copper coloured trad-modern design. Good bed, piping hot water. Good sound insulation from the street. Great view of the street.

A bit dusty, limited facilities (no lounge). No desk.

Quite close to the centre. The bathroom facilities worked.

The entire room floor was not level, it was inclined. This was really noticeable and not pleasant. The walls were end of life and the floor was not clean. There were rust issues in the hotel. Space was very limited, almost no space to get to the other end of the bed. It feels like the room is used solely to host guests without looking at the comfort or state of it. The hotel lies in a street where on weekend nights, you will have loud noise all night long.

Disgusting hotel

The staff was friendly, both check-in and check-out was quick. Great location, but the street is noisy.

I’m sorry to say the hotel was really gross. Carpeted floors with stains on them, dirt piled up in corners, (mouldy?) stains on the walls, rusty shower, holes in the towels… The toilet and bed looked clean at least, but there is no way to tell where else mould and stains are hiding. We did not feel comfortable during our stay due to this.

Good location. Clean and very helpful staff.

Staff was friendly, kind and helpful. The hotel and room was overall clean and loved the shower pressure being up in the 4th floor and the lift was very useful.

Not assessable friendly- stairs to go up into reception area and in a noisy area too so for small children it can be too much. . didn’t know how to turn on the air conditioner so I had to leave the windows open which was a bit noisy down at the bar and the mosquitos came in and walked out with lots of bites all over myself and the baby. Also, book cot way in advance and in writing as we didn’t get a cot on our first night until the second night.

To start off on a positive note: The shower itself was spaceous and comfortable, the bed was alright, and the noise from outside was not too bad, given the location on a very rowdy street.

First of all, the room was not clean at all. I don’t mean a little dust under the bed, but full- on dust bunnies on the walls and in corners, mould on the showerhead and - knobs, rusty tap in the sink, the buttons on the toilet and the handheld shower were hanging off… it seems like this hotel does not care much for cleaning and maintenance. And then there is the issue of the staff. The lady at the front desk was very kind, but it was really hard to understand her. We were told we would receive a “second key” to open the door: we never received this. Therefore, when it was 12 at night and our keycard didn’t work to open the door, we had to call an emergency number. When we called this number, we got sent to voicemail, which was in Dutch and jokingly made you talk for about half a minute without saying “ooh sorry this is my voicemail bye” This is so incredibly rude?! Half your guests don’t speak Dutch, and to just leave someone hanging like that when you are listed as the EMERGENCY CONTACT? After half an hour of calling, the man finally picked up, and without checking any information or anything like that, just asked for a room number and opened the door for us. When we complained about the whole situation the next day, the girl at the front desk just told us “oh sorry” and went on with her day. All in all, this was a very unpleasant stay and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The staff was arrogant, the room had a nasty smell of humidity which is not good for me because of ashma. Tv and lift not working. Inside stairs very dangerous. When I left they told me to pay 150 euros first they said we clogged the drains, 2 days later they said we made our needs in the shower which is not true 100%. I do not like the way they treat the customers to get more money. In fact they already had problems with the drain because early in the morning there were workers digging a very big hole in front of the hotel which was difficult to pass with the bags. They were also checking the drains. It is not right to defamate the customers, is this a new scam??? I do not recommend it. I also asked the contacts of the General manager but they did not answer

The room needs fixing, and new bedding (room 11 on the 1st floor)

Pillowcases were stained with old sweat, also the window wouldn't close all the way in the upperright corner which led to bein able to hear the noises on the street as clearly as if the window was open. And a lot of mosquitos, also we had a nasty insect in our sink just living there rentfree. The smell in the bathroom was also really nasty :/

Location good relative to Rotterdam Ahoy, however Rotterdam transport system is quick, cheap, efficient and easy to use. In future I will not prioritise location over price.

Room rate was ridiculously over priced, relative to room size, location and hotels a sort distance away. Granted booking was made 3 weeks before arrival, but unfortunately suckered into believing location of major importance. Stairs extremely steep and lift very slow. Located right next to "Coffee Shop" and hence the smell of weed ! The" Coffee Shop" does however have 24 hour security, for obvious reasons.

Very convenient hotel for sightseeing in the central storical area.

Location was excellent with tram from Rotterdam Central train station. Stylish interior design and very new and clean.

The bed is too big and took too much space in a small room. After I opened the medium size luggage, there is no space to walk through easily. The bed can be little bit smaller.

Superb

The rooms were very clean everything looks new, very nice bathroom. Even though location is on a very busy street the rooms were very quiet. Our room had a beautiful view of the Rotterdam skyline.

Check in took too long they had to put all details of our ID's manually in the system of all persons in each the rooms. (maybe a copy machine would help). Also we were told no parties no smoking and no drugs in rooms. REALLY? (don't think we looked like a bunch of students or stagnight tourist.

nothing it’s was so tight, Romn was small.For walking round the stairs you had to go up, was so small, I nearly drop.

The stairs were small, I nearly dropped. The room was small you can even walk round. The only space was available is toilet. The bed was uncomfortable and it was so noisy Doors I keep smashing

In Need of TLC

Decor was tasteful and to a good standard, particularly the bathroom. Room was quiet.

Sheets were dirty, bed light and safe were broken, no coffee and tea in the room (only downstairs) and lift was broken so I had to walk three flights of stairs, the carpet of which was heavily stained. Also from hotel description I had expected to have breakfast on-site but that's not available.

The location.

Our stay here last year was a pleasant one. This time around, however, things were less than ideal: the lift wasn't working, the corridors reeked of weed, and our room turned out to be much smaller than expected. We were also falsely accused of smoking in the bedroom and did not get our deposit back. I would not recommend FD Hotels.
