An .excellent place

This is a very convenient apartment. Well-equipped, large, and feels like a home. The property is located at the owner's house, but it is separate and private. The house is like in the woods and yet is a short walk from the town center. The host is extremely kind and warm. He waited for us to help us find the place, which is not easy at night. We enjoyed our two-night stay very much. Much recommended!

Fabulous stay!

Just a few minutes’ walk away from Pitlochry centre. Very quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable ground floor apartment. The host Wayne is very kind and friendly. He provided us with lots of useful information about the local area, good places to eat etc.

Aftonbank..... a "10" in all categories

Aftonbank is situated in a quietspot 3 minutes drive from the Pitlochry Village. From here there are many walking paths to nearby places of interest, but also centrally located for day trips out in the car. Wayne is an outstanding host. The apartment is decked out with everything required for self catering,It is spotless and incredibly comfortable. Wayne is a font of information about activity options, dining and nightlife in Pitlochry and is a genuinely happy and helpful host. I definitely recommend "Aftonbank" as a base if you are spending time in the Pitlochry district.

A comfortable space for a short break that I would revisit.

Very comfortable. Lots of space. Had everything I needed and more. Well set up and presented. I liked that I could control the heating myself in each room. Kitchen well stocked with everything to hand. Little details like spare sanitary products in the bathroom. I didn’t need them, but it was thoughtful to know they were there.

3 Nights in Pitlochry

This is a great spot to stay in Pitlochry. Very central, just a walk down a hill and over the railway line to the town centre. 800m one way. Accommodation was very clean and well furnished. Owners are very helpful and responsive.

Unfortunately, Google maps sent us to the wrong entry. However, a quick call to the owners solved the problem. Even though you are under the main house, noise from above is not an issue.

A very pleasant 2 night stay. Wouldn’t want to stay any longer though.

Quiet location with its own carport right at the front door. A huge bonus.

The tv controller was lost prior to our arrival and not replaced. So had to use the tv controls which was very awkward. The residence was not very warm and heating controlled by Wi-Fi didn’t work so well.

Disappointing

Good location with easy pedestrian access at the bottom of the brae, across railway line and into the town centre.

A few things disappointed us about this property. The main things were: a strong musty smell that clung to clothes, hair and all our luggage. Use of airfreshner on top of the damp smell was not pleasant. There's a mix of electric heaters and central heating radiators, the owner controls the central heating. For us this meant the living room was always too cold to be comfortable when we wanted to use it. The electric heater was very noisy so we didn't use this room. The floor level varies throughout, so there's one or more steps to navigate going from room to room. Acoustics are poor between the accommodation and the main house upstairs.

Lovely cosy apartment that was so close to the centre of Pitlochry. The bed was so comfortable!

As the apartment formed part of the main home, there was times where we heard the owners, simple things just like floorboards creaking. Due to being a light sleeper, this caused a disturbed first night sleep.

A good base for Pitlochry

Aftonbank occupies the downstairs area of the host family's house. It is spacious for two people. It has a lobby area, large living room, large bathroom, small kitchen leading to a medium-sized dining room and a medium-sized bedroom with a lot of hall space between the rooms. It is a good base for exploring the busy holiday town of Pitlochry which is easily reachable from a pedestrian track. The host was very thoughtful and left some provisions for our stay.

A picture of the outside of the house would have been useful as we drove down the track. There are several little steps in the house that one can easily forget about. It would also be easier if the clock on the oven did not have to be set to enable operation. The decor is a bit dated but the place is comfortable enough.

We were very pleased to have chosen to stay there and would certainly go again.

WE liked the space, location as very quiet and apartment very comfortable. The host left milk, home made bread, butter and eggs so we had a lovely breakfast of scambled eggs as we had not expected these things.There was a nice little sitting area outside but we did not have sufficient to make use of it.Very well equipped kitchen.

Quite difficult to find. Possibly better directions in advance as emailed too late as we were on our way and no mobile signal.Once we found the house it was fairly simple and there was a short cut to walk into the town which we did.
