Casa Marconi is an enchanting 17th-century stone villa set in two hectares of terraced farmland planted with orchards and olive trees, with splendid views of the surrounding countryside.
The location of the villa, about 25 km from the city of Lucca, is ideal for enjoying the beautiful Tuscan country life, for relaxing but also for being close to places of historical interest in the area: Pisa and the Riviera are only 45 km away, Torre del Lago, famous for Puccini's villa and the lake, 40 km, Lucca 25 km; the thermal baths of Bagni di Lucca are 15 km away, Barga (beautiful medieval town surrounded by walls) is 20 km, Florence and the Chianti area are a nice day trip. The house has belonged to the same family for the last 125 years and in 1998 it was completely restored and brought back to its former charm.
Much care and effort was put into maintaining the typical Tuscan style, such as terracotta floors and beamed ceilings, but also into adding modern comforts and conveniences. The villa is partly furnished with antiques; the ground floor (kitchen and dining room) opens onto a beautiful portico equipped with barbecue, tables and chairs, where guests can enjoy meals or simply relax.
