This lovely holiday home in Val d’Orcia in the Middle Ages was probably a resting place for pilgrims travelling on the Via Francigena, that passes nearby. Furthermore, opposite the property is the 13th century Castello di Spedaletto, one of the most important monastic granges of the Spedale Santa Maria della Scala, the key religious and political foundation of the Republic of Siena which assisted pilgrims. The castle gave hospitality to many famous personalities, such as Charles II of Naples in 1289 and Pope Pious II in 1460 to name a few, as well as brought prosperity and development to the area, creating reception for the many pilgrims passing by and places where they could buy supplies. The villa is elegantly furnished, in a perfect combination between comfort and tradition, with modern amenities such as internet Wi-Fi and Sat-TV. On two floors, the house can host up to 10 people. On the ground floor there is double bedroom with a bathroom fitted out with a shower, the reception and some service rooms. By means of an exterior staircase one reaches the first floor which consists of an entrance, large living/dining room with kitchen, another living room with two sofa beds, 3 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms fitted out with showers, of which one hydromassage. This holiday villa in Tuscany is part of a semi-detached structure but has its own large garden, with a children’s playground and a private swimming pool. It is in a perfect location for visiting the beauties of Val d’Orcia and famous attractions such as Bagno Vignoni and its beautiful Roman spa, at 4 km, Pienza and San Quirico, both at 6 km, and Montalcino, at 18 km. Next food shops, restaurant at ca. 4-6 km.
