Perfect for the 2 of us and our pet Chihuahua. If you like lots of trees, birds, and squirrels with high bushy tails, this is the place to stay. Very close to downtown Idyllwild and also close to Taquitz Peak and Humber Park. Take a stroll on Ernie Maxwell Trail if you want an easy hike. We went halfway from the north end in one day and halfway from the south end on another day. We drank coffee from our Little Cabin coffee mugs every morning...nice gifts to take home!

We had the BEST time! After a rather stressful few months at work I wanted to escape to the mountains and this was the perfect place to recharge. Lovely cabin, very clean, plenty of squirrels and birds to look at and listen to on the porch, cozy woodstove for chilly nights, we took walks every day and there’s lots of hiking trails! Walking to town is doable, just note there aren’t sidewalks but it’s a fun outing. Jeff and Barb were fantastic hosts, messaging us with current events in town if we wanted to attend, quick to respond to any questions. We will definitely be back and we’re going to bring our dog next time!

My husband and I and our lab spent two nights here. It was very comfortable and there is a peace that we felt the moment we got there. There are lots of trees and the squirrels and birds are very active. We truly felt we were surrounded by nature. The yard is huge and our lab loved running free and exploring. The cabin has everything you need for a great stay. Barb was a great host. She checked in and made sure we had everything and also made suggestions of music entertainment for the days we were there.

This was our first time at the cabin. Our first impression was that we are thankful that we picked this cabin. It has everything anyone would need for a stay. Just bring your food. Its close to town for convenience if you forget anything. Our dogs enjoyed their freedom on the property. Totally fenced in. Since we got home, we still have said what a wonderful time we had. We hope to go again in the Summer.

My wife and I have gone up to stay in Idyllwild several times and we both agree this was our favorite cabin. It was so clean and tidy inside that I would have thought it was a new build. We also loved the massive yard with a gate so we could let our dog roam around and locate all the good sunny spots. The cabin is located smack dab in the middle of where I wanted to be. Less than 5 minute drive to Humber park with all the great trails and the same distance to town center. Communication with Barb and Jeff was simple and they really went above and beyond to make sure we had an outstanding weekend.

This was our third stay at the Little Cabin over the first weekend in December. It’s perfect for our needs. Fenced and pet friendly, and all the amenities we need. Located close to town and pleasant walks through the neighborhood and hiking trail. We look forward to next year.

Great little cabin with nice big property for our dog to go crazy chasing squirrels up trees! Apple trees were full of delicious apples at the time of our visit in October. Owners were so personable and readily available with answers and information. They also gave timely information for finding the cabin and checking in. We had a great time hiking nearby trails (used all trails app). We loved sitting outside on the porch and watching movies on Netflix. The skylights let the moonlight in during the night and the sunlight in by day. Great little cabin! Yes, little. But the kitchen has full sized appliances and everything we needed for preparing and cooking meals. We loved our stay!

We enjoyed our stay in the little cabin. It was dog friendly, smelled clean upon arrival, and had all the amenities we needed. The property was fully fenced in, which is great if you bring your furry babies. The front gate did have a small gap underneath, and since we have little dogs that can squeeze through, we had to keep them on a leash.

We have stayed at this property 2x now. Enjoyed it so much the first time we returned! it is a studio type setting, which we like! Great internet and Samsung Smart TV with all the streaming apps. Excellent air/heat unit, as well as a humidifer and purifier. Very sunny and light, comfy queen bed and nice patio for morning coffee with cushioned chairs. 5 minute drive to town and all the restaurants and could actually walk to a couple of you really like to walk! :) If you are a hiker, you are very close to one of the major trailheads. The property is totally fenced and a very large yard with a lot of natural areas. Highly recommend this property for a couple or a couple with a dog!

We really appreciated the quietude and privacy of this property. The owners left no stones unturned with the comforting items you'll need for your cozy stay. They even stocked coffee! Great restaurants and a market in town. It's a very healthy walk into town and back (10,500 steps to be exact), but a short drive. Plenty of hiking trails nearby. Wondering about experiencing it when it's snowing. (You'd need proper road tires.) Everyone in town was friendly and we were pleased to meet Barb and Jeff, the owners. Idlyllwild is lovelly and we hope to come back!

We live in the desert and we were looking for a place to stay to get out of the heat for a few days! What a find we found in the Little Cabin. It was so perfect for the two of us. The cabin is very clean and well kept, had everything you would ever need. We loved sitting out on the patio for breakfast & lunch and just totally relaxing, and enjoying the surroundings. The little cabin is great for a getaway. I just used it for myself to look around the town for a little while, then go back and relax for the rest of the day. If/when I can walk better I would love to go back and go hiking on the trails that are close by.

The little cabin’s location was quiet and peaceful. Our dogs enjoyed exploring every inch of the property and loved seeing the deer that wandered through. The cabin was small and charming. The bed was warm and comfortable, but a pull-out or regular sized sofa would have been a nice addition. The kitchen was well appointed and the 1/2 pint microwave very cute and efficient.

Cottage had everything we needed, very cozy, didn't venture out much, just enjoyed watching the snow melting off the trees, relaxing and take in the wonderful scenery, plenty of snow to play in. The little cozy cabin on the mountain was the best time that my wife and I have had in a long time while visiting Idyllwild, CA. We have visited Idyllwild almost every year on our anniversary. This year was our 45th and the little cozy cabin on the mountain made it very special for us. Jeff and Barb are the most wonderful folks. They communicated with us a couple of days before the trip about check in and property details during our stay. They gave us all the information we would need in order to have a wonderful stay in the little cabin. As had happened many times before this trip, it snowed on the mountain. Didn't stop us from going, and Jeff & Barb stayed in touch with us to make sure we arrived safely and make sure we had everything we needed. They provided us with helpful tips to keep the cabin warm during our stay with the 20-degree weather and the 1 foot or more of snow that had fallen and was still falling during our stay. Our stay at the little cozy cabin on the mountain will be a time my wife and I will remember forever. The cabin was very clean, organized, and supplied with Kitchen appliances, utensils, and bath & bedding we would need during our stay. All we needed to provide was the food and drinks. Jeff & Barb thought of and provided everything else you would need. We will definitely plan to stay in the little cozy cabin on the mountain for our next, 46th, anniversary.
