This cozy cabin named "Hummingbird Hideaway" is tucked into the side of the mountain at 2800 ft elevation providing amazing panoramic views. With multiple activities close by including DuPont Forest (20 m), the Carl Sandburg Home and Downtown Hendersonville (15m) this is the perfect spot for a family vacation. Asheville is just 40 mins away with the Historic Biltmore Estate and incredible dining opportunities.
Hummingbird Hideaway is tucked into the mountain providing you privacy and solitude. Relax and unwind while enjoying incredible views from the upper deck, or have an afternoon nap in the hammock on the lower deck.
If you are seeking adventure there are multiple opportunities in the area for hiking, fishing, tubing, gem mining, horseback riding and mountain biking. If you are looking for a more laid back vacation there are several breweries and wineries in the area to explore, as well as dining and shopping in quaint downtown.
You may find that once you leave the cabin you don't want to leave! A fully stocked kitchen with new appliances allows you to prepare all meals at home if you would like, with an al fresco dining option available at the farm house table on the upper deck. There is a cabinet stocked with board games and a library of books as well as some children's toys. There are smart TV's in both the family room and den that are loaded with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN- catch up on your favorite shows or have a family movie night.
Unfortunately we know that sometimes you will need to be able to work, even on vacation. We have excellent WiFi service at the cabin and the creative cabin provides a quiet place to work if necessary.

This property has an awesome view. You just can’t beat it. This is an older home, but with many modern touches. Therefore, you get the charm built into an older home, but the modern conveniences that you know in love. Believe the property owner when they say that you need all-wheel-drive! But, with all-wheel-drive it’s not an issue getting up there. Only about 20 minutes into Hendersonville. The only thing I’d recommend would be to add a gas grill for grilling out.

We came to the area to see the show at the Flat Rock Playhouse… our son was performing in the show.
The Hummingbird HideAway was comfortable and perfect for our family! We spent a lot of time on the spacious deck. The view was gorgeous and we had hummingbird visits often!

The moment we walked in, we went straight to the back porch. It was so peaceful. We spent the majority of our time out there enjoying the view, many conversations, sunsets and had nearly every meal at the outdoor table. I also enjoyed the Creative Cabin. Accommodations were excellent. Everything you could possibly need was there. We never left except one day took a short drive to The Pretty Place. I highly recommend and hope to return someday.
