This 2-story lakeside cottage is in historical and beautiful Flat Rock, NC. It sits on a quiet lane in a large mountain retreat that gives you plenty of space to walk, explore, and relax. Spend quiet time on either of the two porches or say "hello" to the community sheep and goats. 1-mile away is the Flat Rock village center with beautiful gardens and several award winning eateries. Cove Cottage will sleep up to 8-people in 3-bedrooms.

Thorough instruction provided by host a complete with a few personalized touches of refreshments for the adults and apples for the kids (goats. The cottage was spacious, beautifully decorated, well maintained, comfortable furnishings and well supplied. Easy parking. Would love to stay again if we get back to the area.

My family has stayed in numerous VRBO vacation rentals over the last few years. I don't think I have ever left a review--that's just not something that I use my time to do. However, about halfway through our visit at Cove Cottage, I told my husband that I would definitely be leaving a review. The property was actually larger than the two of us needed, but after seeing the interior of the home online and realizing how lovely the neighborhood was, I couldn't resist reserving it, especially since I considered the price to be very reasonable for the quality of the property. The worst of the NC gasoline shortage was going on during the week we were originally scheduled to stay at the property, but the next week was available and the property manager was kind enough to let us push our visit back a week, and we had no problems getting gasoline on our vacation. The home is well appointed and decorated, with extremely comfortable furniture in the living room and a great bed in the main bedroom. We enjoyed the views, the porches, and the sitting room off the main bedroom. The kitchen was large and well organized. The location is quiet and peaceful, but we didn't feel overly isolated. A great Ingles market is about five minutes away. Flat Rock is a neat place, as are other nearby small towns. We enjoyed visiting the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site (the home itself was still closed due to COVID during the last week of May 2021), St. John in the Wilderness Church, and Pearson's Falls as well as the Main Street shops, restaurants, and thrift stores in Hendersonville. I have absolutely no negatives to report. The only thing that might enhance the experience would be more detailed instructions on how to watch local channels on the television. You cannot go wrong with this vacation rental!
