This place is just the perfect getaway. We travelled with two teenagers and my parents. Everyone really loved the location but most of all, the property as it has a wow factor! No one wanted to leave and we all wanted to stay longer. It is hard to get teenagers to enjoy anything but both of them loved it so much, they preferred to stay at the lodge, painting and absorbing nature to watching TV or their phones. For once we had two teenagers talking and laughing. On site there is a small shop and two fabulous restaurants. We ate at the restaurant at the Spa and it was freshly prepared and quick to our table. The Spa kitchen is open plan so you can watch them prepare your food. The prices were reasonable too. The hosts Jo and William were very quick to respond to any questions we had and were always very helpful. The place was very clean and tidy. There is WiFi with internet at the property which was more than sufficient for us and there is a TV. My parents loved watching TV, while my wife and I preferred just sitting out on the veranda, listening to the two girls laughing and joking with each other. The kitchen was well equipped for everyday cooking. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfy. My mother has had a couple operations on her back and my wife is partially paralysed so comfy beds were a must. No one complained about the beds and everyone got a good nights sleep every night. The lodge has a bathroom and an en-suite. The bathroom is spacious and clean. The bath was comfortable enough to relax in & the showers (in both rooms) was powerful enough. The deco has a few nice features and we loved the taps on the bath. All the linen was provided and it was fresh and pure white. You just know that the hosts take care of every little detail. There is a welcome pack when you first enter the lodge and it has all the information you could ever need (if you take the time to read it). The place is so peaceful it is a fantastic place to relax and unwind.

There was nothing we didnt like about it. It was just so perfect for our needs. If there was anything we didnt like, I am sure the Jo and William would do their best to put it right. If I could give them 11 stars, I would do.

Everything was perfect. The only suggestion is to have some ventilators handy as it was very hot weather.

The property was spacious and comfortable. Bed linen and towels were clean, and it was well-heated.

It felt like it needed a thorough clean - there were so many cobwebs down the sides of beds, in ceiling corners, across lamp shades etc. I understand that it's a lodge in the middle of a wood and there will be cobwebs, but not to that extent. Three bulbs had gone in the kitchen area, making it hard to see there. And the hot water was way too hot, to the degree that we nearly scalded ourselves a couple of times; it is a health and safety issue and needs addressing before this happens.
