Access through a gate leading to the furnished garden and the courtyard on the castle side. On one side of the courtyard there is a staircase leading to a landing with private entrance to the flat. Entrance to the living room with double bed. Another door in the living room leads to the full bathroom with shower. An open archway down three steps from the living room leads to the spacious dining room with kitchenette, complete with gas cooker and refrigerator.
A glass door in the dining room opens onto a magnificent furnished and private terrace. The terrace offers spectacular views of Proceno and the surrounding countryside. The pool area is accessible through an old tunnel under the castle, on one side of the courtyard.

This wonderful holiday flat is located in a castle in Lazio, right on the border with Tuscany.
The castle dates back to the 12th century and has a pentagonal base containing a main tower and two secondary towers connected by patrol walkways, as well as a drawbridge, one of 19 still in use in Italy. The castle rises above the Via Cassia and dominates the Paglia valley, with Monte Amiata in the background. Surrounded by forests and green valleys, this rare example of a medieval fortress survives in its original state and offers enchanting accommodation and wonderful hospitality, where you can enjoy history and culture without forgoing modern comforts.

The castle consists of 7 holiday flats. Three flats are located in the 14th century part of the fortress. Although they share a common path through the garden leading to the swimming pool, each is independent and has its own furnished outdoor area. The other four flats, which also have their own private outdoor spaces, are distributed around the medieval courtyard. The swimming pool (12x6 m, open from mid-May to mid-October) is accessed through an ancient and evocative tunnel under the castle. All flats have a wood-burning fireplace for cosy, romantic evenings.

The swimming pool is located in the large green park of the holiday complex, from whose terraces you can enjoy a beautiful view. By the pool is also a renovated barn, now used as a restaurant, where you can enjoy long-forgotten recipes and typical regional dishes, immersed in the peace and beauty of the surrounding garden.
Halfway between Florence and Rome (both 150 km away), the castle is ideally located for excursions to art centres such as Orvieto, Pitigliano, Lake Bolsena, Tuscania, Viterbo, Pienza and Montepulciano.
