About this apartment rental
Facility:
Welcome to the narrow Reddevitz Peninsula. Located in the southeastern part of the island of Rügen, the headland is connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus approximately 130 meters long. It is over 4 kilometers long and only between 200 and 500 meters wide. Nestled within the Greifswald Bodden, the peninsula belongs to the municipality of Mönchgut and lies in the heart of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve.
Time stands still here! If you’re looking for peace, rest, and relaxation, you’ve come to the right place. Endless hiking trails wind through wild meadows, rolling hills, and steep cliffs in a breathtaking landscape. Many have rediscovered their favorite postcard scenes here.
On Mönchgut, great importance is placed on tradition, art, and craftsmanship. In Middelhagen, you’ll find Middelhagen ceramic art—Mönchgut ceramics. Not only are cups, plates, and pitchers made here, but also handmade glass art. You’ll find these throughout the town. At every well-known corner, glass fish glisten in the sunlight, making the town shine. During the summer months, you can visit the school museum in Middelhagen. And if you’ve ever wondered what school was like nearly 100 years ago, here’s your chance. From June through August, historical school lessons (by appointment) take place here Tuesday through Sunday.
The expansive, fine-sand beaches are easily accessible by bike or car. Furthermore, the beautiful hiking trails invite you to explore the idyllic countryside. Spend a wonderful vacation on the Mönchgut!
