Superb Location

The location is superb with a great view from the shared balcony. The pub downstairs is very nice and would be a bonus when open and serving food. Although the shower is small it provides plenty of hot water.

The beds and settee are uncomfortable and need upgrading. With no food available from the pub (winter hours?), takeaways from nearby Ruthin are the only option to self-catering which was a bit inconvenient.

It was warm, dry and clean

The host met us and showed us the accommodation, he as very friendly and the accommodation was spotlessly clean.

This is not a complaint just a heads up to anyone else , it states sleeps five but the second double bed was under low eves and two people would have struggled to sleep in it. The bathroom was in the main bedroom, the lighting for the other two rooms was connected and there were a lot of extensions which was concerning. For us the problem was the living area, the place stated 5, there was one sofa and it was dreadfully uncomfortable, and the tv was tiny . This would not bother some people but as one member was disabled we use the accommodation from late afternoon to relax and that was not possible. I would recommend as long as people were aware of this and the metal steps up to the accommodation, again a disability issue i failed to see due to last minute booking.

Exceptional

Lovely location - you could easily relax there. Even though the pub is downstairs, you can't hear the noises. The beds are comfortable, and we slept like logs. And yet, very nice owner. 😀 We didn't know but it is possible to order food in advance so you could save time for looking at a restaurant.

Amazing value for money in a very special location. A great stay away in the Welsh countryside

Hillfort is in a superb location with great walks, both low level and high level up the hills. Nick was very welcoming and on hand throughout. Being directly above the Pub, being able to go downstairs for drinks after a walk and in the evening was a delight. Great choice of beers and the Sunday roast is one to remember. Thoroughly recommend for anyone who wants a great base, in an amazing location to explore the beautiful countryside with a beer at the end! Great time

I am a light sleeper so early morning sounds of hoovering downstairs and the family staying next door woke me. However, this didn't bother others. Also, parts of the apartment weren't as clean as would be ideal, but this didn't distract at all from the enjoyment of our stay

The location and the views from the balcony were breathtaking. The area around provided good walkways. the property was cosy with all the amenities provided.

Great place for visiting North Wales

Whole 3 bed apartment. Fully fitted kitchen with everything needed including washing up liquid, bin bags etc. (No washing machine, but who wants to do laundry on holiday). Fabulous views from terrace and glorious sunsets.

Loved it, but I won't go back

I loved the privacy, surroundings and the view. The host was also very easygoing. Perfect if you have kids. The kitchen is well equipped, you can cook for yourself and have everything you need to do so. The pub underneath was closed the couple of days we were in, which was appreciated. Ruthin is 5 minutes drive and has a beautiful charm. There's a Tesco and some independent butchers with great vegetables and meat. People is so nice and the hunted castle adds on. Great for a couple of days.

Sadly, I didn't get more than two hours of sleep each night. Somehow, I was itching all night long. Couldn't cover myself with the quilt or being on top of the mattress I had to use the blanket and cover myself with my dressing gown. I was also reacting (itching) on the dining chair I sat on. Maybe it was the product they used to clean/wash things with. I don't know. Also, the children from the next door apartment, without being loud, could be heard as if we were together in the same room. Take some shorts, it's quite warm inside as soon as clouds dissipate. There are no windows in the bathroom and the shower is quite narrow, being objective, most people nowadays will struggle moving inside whilst having a shower.

Protective strips on low beams - awkward for anyone over 5ft4. Restrictive space for sitting 4 in comfort and for sitting around dining table (had to be pulled out and put back as needed).

Stunning views, lovely quaint pub & excellent for a nice relaxed getaway

Location was beautiful the views where stunning. The pub below was lovely and welcoming and Ruthin centre a short journey down the road. The host’s where very friendly and helpful lovely couple. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but hopefully opening up again soon, we are booking again for 2022

距离小镇中心区域远，走路到不了，打车也不变。房子写的130平。事实上入住的三张床的部分只有40平米左右，位于房子二层的不到一半的地方，而且房间都是斜角，甚至有两张床的位置起床会撞脑袋，我不得不选择蜷缩着睡很小的沙发。图片里很多皮质沙发，桌椅之类休闲的部分，是一层的酒吧，平时锁门，根本不开。所以照骗的厉害。根据图片订房，绝对后悔
