Que no me condicionó la hora de llegada, y que las llaves estaban ahí en la caja de seguridad

It was fine. An interesting place.

Firstly, I'm bothered when there is a dog at an accommodation that makes you feel unwelcome. Like, there is only one way to approach a property, and you shouldn't feel unsafe or bothered just by trying to arrive. If your dog can't discern whether you are a threat or not, it should be inside. That bothered me. Second, the host tried to charge me a conversion fee to pay in local currency. That is infuriating to me, because there is no money being changed. If you have a price in USD and you accept local currency, there should be no conversion fee. The host used the most expensive bank rate on a list of all of them for Costa Rica, and that factors in a commission. So, to pay in local currency, you pay a commission to buy that currency, and then again. It was frustrating, because I explained that the banks charge a commission, with the rates that he was using, and his excuse was that he was needing to pay a conversion fee to pay Booking.com their commission. Even if that is true, that is on a portion of the rate, not the whole thing. So, he was pocketing a commission on the majority of the rate for doing absolutely nothing. The rate that he gave me was 15% higher than the rate, on google, with XE. That is absurd. Made me annoyed, to argue. And got nowhere. So, this is my commission.

It's a neat spot. The owner was very friendly.

The walls are thin so we could hear neighbors talking, watching tv, snoring... It was a bit cold and not well insulated, heater didn't work. Door rattled in the wind at night. Parking is very tight, even for a small car.
