Apartments in the heart of Penzance

The location was superb as it was very central and as we arrived by train it was very convenient. The apartment was clean and had nearly all the facilities we were expecting. There was no significant noise from other flats. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

I wonder whether the outside area couldn't have been surrounded by a slightly higher, filled-in fence as the view wasn't the most enticing and there were some issues of privacy-invasion. For example, when people visited a shed my mother experienced people gazing at her from outside on one occasion. Other slight issues which didn't impact massively but which still could be improved include an annoyingly low light shade in the main living area. After banging my head for the upteenth time I had to take the shade off. Also, the hot tap in the bathroom was a little difficult to turn off and the bathroom light was too high for my mum to turn reach.

Location was excellent and convenient for town centre, railway station and bus station. Apartment was private and very clean and comfortable.

Couldn't get the shower to produce hot water, despite contacting the helpline. A few more basic items in the kitchen would have been better - a whisk, vegetable knife, mixing bowl/basin, tablespoons.

Location is great, and the shower although small was good - always a plus.

Felt very mislead by the booking process - when booking using the app on my phone, it’s not clear there are two flats under this listing, and only one has an outside space. It’s also misleading to be listed as newly refurbished it’s actually quite tatty in many areas. When I called the property manager to say i wasn’t in the flat I had understood to have booked - the initial response was short, and was told I could leave if I wasn’t happy and receive a refund. Hardly an option for us at that point! Light bulb out, ring on the hob not working, a few items broken, basic kitchen equipment but saucepan missing a lid, no grater, only board was a bread board… depends whether you want to actually cook or not… a pointed weight on the base of the short bathroom light pull at head height - directly in front of the mirror- odd and annoying as my husband repeatedly caught his head on it. Slight damp smell in the kitchen cupboards which was a surprise as it’s mid August in a dry summer. Windows showed signs of cleaned up mould. Location is great, the overall appearance is pleasant and the water pressure is good in the shower. The contact number supplied is the owner who understandingly didn’t want to speak to me as he has a property manager - so suggest this is changed. He gave me the property manager’s number - she has a feature on her phone where you have to say who you are and why you are calling before it’s determined whether your call is answered - this bothered me as it didn’t give me confidence that my call would be answered. It’s not all bad but my comments reflect my frustrations which impacted on our stay.
